Last month Meghan wore a similar shade to the Queen’s Young Leaders’ Awards – this time in the form of a smart Prada skirt suit.

It’s the fifth time she’s has worn dusky pink in the last eight weeks – and now, a colour expert has weighed in on the reason why.

In the past, Meghan has often been seen in dark tailored suits and navy tones – but experts have noticed that since the 36-year-old became an official Royal, she’s been opting for more delicate shades.

Only three days after the Royal Wedding, Meghan chose a pale pink Goat dress for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday celebrations – a garden party in the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

Weeks later and celebrating another royal milestone – the Queen’s 92nd birthday – Meghan opted for a pink off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress with button-up detail.

And it was during a royal engagement, again with Her Majesty, that Meghan chose another muted shade – a Givenchy sheath dress, complete with capelet and belted detail.

Colour psychology practitioner Karen Haller believes the soft shade is having a “calming effect” on the Duchess of Sussex, revealing the delicate shade of pink could be physically soothing during high-pressure events.

“The number of high profile engagements Meghan has had since officially becoming a member of the royal family would no doubt be quite nerve wracking,” Karen told the .

“As the softer end of the pink spectrum is physically soothing, it’s the perfect antidote to calming those nerves and easing the pulse rate.”

Karen also points to Meghan’s feelings for her new husband, Prince Harry, explaining soft pinks often communicate love.

“She’s sub-consciously communicating through colour that she’s clearly in love,” explained Karen.

“Soft pinks communicate the nurturing, compassionate, caring side of love…I’m not at all surprised she is feeling this way given the body language between her and Prince Harry – and she is reflecting this in picking the softer pinks.”

Last week, fashion expert Lucas Armitage suggested another potential reason why Meghan is opting for soft shades.

“I feel this is a clever styling tactic as it will always work with the Queen’s look; she is known and applauded for her use of bright fun colours,” Lucas told the .

“The use of neutral colour on Meghan part is also a show of respect to the Queen so she never looks like she is trying to outshine her.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to attend the “Your Commonwealth” Youth Challenge Reception on Thursday July 5 – and with Prince Louis’ christening only a a few days later on July 9 – we can’t wait to see what Meghan wears next.
