#TRENDING

Dig out your sequins, tassels and muddy wellies... because festival fever has begun.

It’s the perfect excuse to unleash all your style secrets and let your wardrobe run wild.

Even if you haven’t got a festival planned (yet) it’s still a trend to jump on board with.

Kicking off the season for me was Isle of Wight Festival and my packed rucksack was full of crochet, glitter and a handy bum-bag.

And let’s not forget the heavy load of denim I took, it’s the trend that transcends seasons and is perfect for fields.

But, before I round-up my favourite high street picks, I want to chat about my weekend at IOW.

Along with all the alcohol-drowning and arm-waving, I actually got the chance to do something good.

Spending most the sunny weekend in Old Mout’s Kiwi Camp, the cider makers are helping to raise money and awareness for New Zealand’s endangered national icon – the kiwi.

With a glitter station, Disco Yoga and Rockaoke – it was the perfect area to bust a move.

I even got to cycle to recycle all my empty cider cans, another do-good moment that helped the environment.

But that’s not the best thing.

The camp has four missions to conquer in order to become the Ultimate Kiwi Hero so you can earn one of their Old Mout denim jackets – see below a picture of me in one of the styles.

And while IOW has been and gone (though the bags under my eyes have sadly not), there is still a chance to join in on the fun.

Come August, the Kiwi camp will be setting up base at Bestival Festival and with tickets still available, you can do your bit for the environment and get your hands on a badge-covered jacket.

I know I’ll be giving it a go.

With a little while until then though, I have another one in the pipeline for next weekend.

Heading to Farr Festival in Hertfordshire with a bunch of mates, I am already browsing countless websites at any spare chance.

While the weather at IOW was scorching hot, England can never be relied on.

So denim jackets, shorts, jeans and dungarees are key staples – keeping you bang on trend, yet snug when the chilly evenings settle in.

Here is my round-up of the best denim pieces to get you in the festival spirit...

IN MY BASKET

If you haven’t heard already – and I’m sure you probably have – Zara has slashed their prices allowing you to bag a killer wardrobe without killing off your bank balance.

So when it comes to deciding what’s in my basket this week, it’s got to be everything from the Spanish retailer.

Though the sale hit shelves last Wednesday, the store is topping up the section on a regular basis.

You can get ahead by bagging your new winter coat now, or pick up some last-minute pieces for any upcoming holidays.

From shoes to suits and everything else in-between, it’s definitely worth splashing the cash.

Tip: think ahead to autumn and winter and pick items you can re-work for next season.

Here’s what I’ve clicked confirm to buy on, so you can add it to your basket.

MY FASHION LIFE

Earlier this month I got to head somewhere far more exotic than our studio in Hoxton.

Jetting off on a fashion trip with our Fashion Editor Gabi, we swapped the morning tube commute for a flight to Almeria, Spain.

But before you think it was all sun, sea and plenty of sunshine . . . there was also a lot of early morning starts. 5am to be exact.

But aside from getting up before sunrise and the model and I sleeping through our alarm one morning, the five-day trip was otherwise a smooth ride.

Assisting Gabi on four main fashion stories, two of them were done around our beautiful boutique hotel – while the other two we ventured to Tabernas Desert and Cabo de Gata-Nijar.

Now, I’m no photographer, but I think I got some pretty sweet behind the scene snaps.

So here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come.

And if you haven’t been already, definitely add Almeria to your holiday list.
