The secret reason Victoria Beckham pulls this weird pose in EVERY photograph
The pose involves the star placing her left leg slightly in front of the other and leaning slightly backwards
MANY people have a favourite side or flattering angle for photo - and no one knows this better than Victoria Beckham.
The singer-turned-designer, 44, has been working the same unusual pose for YEARS, and looks like a carbon copy in nearly all of her red carpet moments.
As early as 2009, the fashion designer has been perfecting the classic VB slant.
The pose involves the ex Spice Girl placing her left leg slightly in front of the other and leaning slightly backwards, with her left arm elongated down her side.
The star then turns slightly side on, with her chin pointed down to give a classic fierce gaze.
Of course, the star is famous for not cracking a smile, and Victoria always pulls a killer pout for the camera.
Fashion stylist Harriet Davey tells Fabulous why VB sticks to her signature pose...
The left leg pop
Harriet says "After years of practice in front of the camera, of course Victoria Beckham knows all her best angles and it's clearly her left side. By putting one leg in front of the other she manages to make her legs look longer, her slim frame look slightly more curvy at the hips AND it shows off her endless shoe wardrobe all in one simple trick. She definitely puts her best foot forward in the style stakes."
The hip jut
There's also a reason for sticking out the right hip "it's all about creating the desired 'S' curve all the celebs aim to get on the red carpet, and this is perfect for VB to create these curves. It adds a hint of hourglass to her body shape, and seen as she usually wears quite fitted dresses this is a way to create the sexy silhouette."
The chin tilt
Harriet also says "the chin tilt is an important one for Mrs Beckham, and seen as she rarely smiles in photos this is an easy one for her to perfect. It's all about that jawline, by lifting up the chin slightly and tilting it to the side she's making sure she has a sleek jawline at all times. This is definitely a trick to try out on Instagram to avoid the dreaded double chin."
Right arm back
There's a reason behind every part of the pose and Harriet adds "while pushing out the hip creates the curves, tucking in one arm keeps her looking svelte. Standing slightly to the side as she tucks her arm behind and stops the shoulders looking broad. This shows off the curves she does have and it's the perfect way to have a confident posture to show off her amazing outfits."
Just this week, Victoria attended The Argento Ball in Windsor for the Elton John AIDS Foundation and was pictured in her classic pose.
The designer was accompanied by son Brooklyn, 19, who is Elton's godson.
She wore a sleek black gown with a plunging neckline, and emerald green drop necklace, and yes of course she was doing her pose...
Low down shot
VB sometimes strays from her signature pose, but when she does, she does it for a reason.
Stylist Harriet says "getting a picture taken from below is a typical Insta-approved angle, and while a colour block wide leg trouser could swamp VB's petite 5' 3" petite frame, she avoids it with this pose. It actually manages to make her look tall adding inches to her legs, and of course that chin is angled to perfection. I wonder if David played Insta-husband crouching down to get the shot?"
Back flash
She has also tried out the back to camera pose quite a few times recently and there's a reason why, Harriet tells us "there's a simple reason Victoria is putting her back to us all, and that's to show off the gorgeous low back detail of the dreamy emerald dress from her latest Victoria Beckham collection. She brings her shoulder up, back in and bum slightly out to create a gorgeous shape in her satin number. And yep, this is a great angle for that killer jawline and a left leg pop to show off THOSE orange shoes. All hail VB."
VB has previously made light of her 'ice queen' reputation and lack of smiling by wearing a plain white t-shirt with the slogan "Fashion stole my smile".
She's also worn a jumper with "It's a dark but happy place", captioned it on social media with "When you’re smiling on the inside. As the sweatshirt says!! Let your sweatshirt do the talking".
In a video with Vogue, Posh said that the worst question she can be asked is, “Why don't you ever smile?” In the clip she jokes that she's smiling on the inside.
