AS the heatwave grips the UK the temperatures are also rising in the bedroom.
Fresh research has revealed people are more likely to cheat during the summer months.
Ashley Madison, a dating website for married people, revealed signups skyrocket over summer.
The website, which caters for people looking for affairs, revealed its peak month for signups was July.
The stats cover last year, but the website gurus predict this scorcher of a summer will be no different.
Dr. Tammy Nelson, sex and relationship therapist and author of The New Monogamy: Redefining Your Relationship After Infidelity, explained the reasoning behind the surge.
She said: “Increased levels of serotonin are associated with more exposure to sunshine, ultimately allowing people to feel happier.
“With more sun exposure in the summer people will feel happier, more confident, and this could help kick start someone’s decision to start and extra-marital affair, allowing them to feel better about the decision.”
On average the website had 20,800 new signups each month, with more women than men looking for an affair on the site.
If you’re worried about your spouse being unfaithful, the site also revealed the cities where people stray the most.
The city with the most summer signs ups per capita was Liverpool, with data based on the number of signups to AshleyMadison.com between June 21, 2017 and September 22, 2017 per 1,000 people.
Next was Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Bradford, London then Manchester.
Isabella Mise, director of communications for Ashley Madison, said: "Larger cities like London and Manchester have a bigger population, so it’s typical to see more signups coming from these cities.
“But when we look at the numbers on a per capita basis, we can really see which cities have a higher prominence of infidelity.”
