Meet the women who claim they can speak to unicorns – and believe the mythical beasts have healing powers
They are the trend of the summer, but these women claim they can see REAL unicorns when they walk down the high street
YOU might see unicorns in every shop on the high street at the moment - but Jacqueline Piper claims she has been seeing them in real life for the past ten years.
The 51-year-old was on a weekend away in Wales in 2008 when she says the mystical beasts first appeared to her.
While this might seem fantastical, she's not alone - a survey found six per cent of us believe in unicorns.
Jacqueline, who lives in Worthing, West Sussex, says the moment she first saw a unicorn changed her life.
She says: "I suddenly I saw several pure white horses come into the room. There was about 30 in total and they had twisted multicoloured horns and big wings.
"I'd never really thought about unicorns before but I wasn't shocked. I accepted it in the same way I accept an angel experience. The atmosphere was very uplifting and full of peaceful light."
After that, Jacqueline started seeing unicorns all the time.
In fact, if you've bought anything with a unicorn on - onesies, mugs, toys and lights - you might be in touch with the unicorn kingdom yourself. She believes that the surge in the popularity of unicorn products is a sign from the unicorn kingdom itself.
"It's the unicorns' way of helping people get back on track," she says.
"I met a beautiful unicorn with a pretty garland of colourful flowers around her neck soon after," she says. "She told me her name was Lavender.
"Another unicorn with a very powerful golden light around him told me his name was Corinthian."
Feeling a deep connection to the magical beasts, she enrolled on a Unicorn Healing course at the Unicorn Centre in Somerset - and trained to be a fully-fledged unicorn healing practitioner.
Healing horses
Now Jacqueline sees unicorns all the time and even makes a living communicating with them.
The spiritual healer, whose parents and grandparents were all clairvoyants too, has incorporated "unicorn healing" into her , and is one of a growing number of practitioners in the field.
Clients struggling with relationship, confidence, emotional or self-esteem issues pay Jacqueline £65 for an hour-long session in which she summons her magical unicorns to heal them.
"To start my sessions, I light a candle to set an intention on the client's aim, then place healing crystals around myself and my client. These help you increase energy around you with their natural vibrations and make it easier to contact the unicorns, who respond to powerful energy.
"Then when the unicorns come into the room I ask them telepathically if they want me to relay messages or send wisdom to the person I'm giving healing to, and sometimes a big group of unicorns will encircle them. They are normally surrounded by a healing white light and the energy in the room is lifted.
"I don't hear their voices as they don't speak as if a human would, but I get messages from them that come into my head."
Unicorn healers believe tuning in to the creatures can help soothe people's aches and pains, but the technique is mainly used to unblock old emotions rather than physical-level problems.
Supposedly, the healing process can guide you through relationship difficulties and big life problems - and even help them develop psychic abilities.
Jacqueline says the unicorns want to help heal people as they have "enlightened minds" and they want to spread light, peace and harmony.
Ancient beings
But how can beings invisible to the human eye really heal anyone?
, is a former scientist who developed the world's first trademarked unicorn healing system.
In 2006 she saw a premonition of herself in the future working with unicorns to give hands-on healing.
"Connecting with the unicorns can allow us to discover there is more out there than we think," says Calista, who is 37 and lives in St Andrews. "It helps us believe that magic isn't part of a fairytale, but it unleashes the potential within us to shift our lives."
Calista, who has recently published her book, Unicorn Rising, tells Sun Online that the magical creatures she's seen can come in lots of different sizes and colours and rainbow patterns.
They have fascinated people since ancient times, appearing in literature dating back thousands of years - even being mentioned in natural history reports by the Ancient Greeks.
And the past few months have seen a real boom in unicorn merchandise on the high street, from homeware to onesies and even shower gel.
Last month, 600 people set a unicorn-themed Guinness World Record at the Three Wishes Fairy Festival in Cornwall for the largest crowd wearing unicorn horns.
Unicorns in space
Calista says, although they exist on Earth, unicorns are actually from a different galaxy to us.
"They come from the Sirius Star System (the brightest star in the Earth's night sky) and the Andromeda Galaxy (2.537 million light years away)," she explains.
"The unicorns live on a vibration, but we can access their light when we meditate and connect with them."
"It may sound a bit barmy, but the energy the unicorns bring is so high and pure and it is genuinely life-changing."
In recent months, Calista says, demand for unicorn healing has soared.
"A lot of people are realising that there's more out there than what they can see on Earth," says Calista.
"At the moment there's so much confusion and fear with everything going on in the world.
"More and more people are looking to use spirituality to understand what is happening and how they can help the world come back together, whether that be through turning to alternative therapies, or astrology or working with nature.
"And unity is one of the main gifts the unicorns bring."

And how would the women respond to all the doubters out there?
"I would say you don't know unless you try to connect with them," Jacqueline explains.
"If you're open-minded and try this, you might just be surprised at what you see."
