WHEN the Queen passes away, Kate Middleton could be given a new title – and it has a very poignant meaning.

Charles will likely inherit the throne, meaning the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will move up the line of succession.

If this happens, Kate Middleton will become Princess of Wales, the title last held by her husband’s mum, Princess Diana - while Wills will become Prince of Wales.

If she wishes, Kate can use the name as a sweet tribute to the mother-in-law that she never got to meet.

Currently Charles is the Prince of Wales, and technically Camilla Parker Bowles holds the Princess title, but she doesn’t use it due to the association it has to Princess Diana, who died in 1997.

Instead, Camilla uses the Duchess of Cornwall title, which is female version of Charles’ highest-ranking subsidiary title.
