WE love the British high-street, but just imagine wearing one of Queen Bey's red-carpet styles this weekend...
Well, dreams do come true and it's all thanks to Armarium - a boutique service that allows customers to rent designer outfits for four days.
The New York-based company has teamed up with Browns department store in London, to open a pop-up shop which will be open for the next two weeks. It's ideal if you've got a summer wedding (or several) on the horizon.
So how does it work? Well, customers browse pieces online and in store, before booking the outfit (which includes jewellery and accessories) for their desired event. Generally, each piece is available for between 10-15% of its retail price.
Items available include a floral embroidered gown by Huishan Zhang, originally £1,610 but available to rent for £210.
There's also a £2,240 Zimmermann dress worn by Beyoncé, up for grabs at just £304, as well as an emboidered frock seen on Lily Collins. There's even a red Johanna Ortiz gown available to borrow for £230 - a fraction of its £2,290 price.
The garment arrives laundered and carefully wrapped in delicate ribbon the day before, and a team of celebrity stylists (dubbed the Style Brigade) are on hand for advice and suggestions.
The piece must be in the post by 12PM the day after the event.
"For years, we’ve talked about how hard it is to find statement pieces from the runways to wear to events or even to dinner with friends," said co-founder Alexandra Lind Rose.
"That’s when we started thinking about how we could solve this issue… and the idea for Armarium was born," continued co-founder and CEO Trisha Gregory.
Armarium's pop-up is at Browns, London until Friday June 29.
