EVERYBODY knows that the key to spicing up your sex life is booking a romantic date night and maybe even treating yourself to some nice new lingerie, right?
Well a sex and hormones expert may have just saved us a lot of time (and money) with some new advice for keeping things hot in the bedroom.
Author of best-selling book WomanCode Alisa Vitti says that our fluctuating hormone levels play an enormous role in our sex lives.
For those clued up on their GCSE Biology, you'll already know that oestrogen is the female sex hormone that fuels women's sex drive - but it also drives men too.
As a result, Alisa says that couples should time their intimate moments based on their oestrogen levels to ensure a "more emotionally present" experience.
And as men's oestrogen levels soar at around 3pm in the afternoon, Alisa believes that couples should use this as an excuse for a mid-afternoon romp.
But what about women's hormones?
Unsurprisingly, Alisa says that your "time of the month" and fluctuating hormones also affects your chance of hitting the big O.
With this in mind, women achieve their greatest sexual fulfilment "ten days after ovulation" as they "experience a surge in oestrogren and testosterone that causes their desire to skyrocket."
So clear the diary because mid-afternoon ten days after ovulation is THE time to dive under the covers.
Better book the day off work.
