Dior has launched a new beauty line called Backstage… and the foundation range comes in 40 shades

INTRODUCING Dior's exciting new beauty range which is just as good as their haute couture products, but at a third of the price.

BEAUTY fans are going crazy for Dior's new 'Backstage' diffusion range of slightly cheaper make-up products aimed at the younger generation.

The cult French beauty brand is trying to reach its biggest audience yet with 40 shades of foundation, just like Fenty, the smash hit diversity brand launched by Rihanna last year.

Dior launched its new side-brand at its star-studded Cruise 2019 fashion show in Paris last week, sending every model down the catwalk looking picture-perfect in its new hyper-natural foundations, shimmering eye shadows and glistening lip balms.

The Backstage range has, appropriately, been inspired by the products loved and used by the world's pro make-up artists behind the scenes at London, New York and Paris Fashion weeks.

At £20 for a tinted lip balm and £21.50 for a lip liner, the new beauty collection offers a more affordable way to own a lust-worthy piece of Dior.

The brand's mainline foundations cost around £35, with their famous luxurious Capture Totale spf 25 foundation totting up to an eye-popping £65.
The accompanying ad campaign for the new range is fronted by It-girl models Bella Hadid, Chu Wong, Manuela Sanchez and Britain's own pixie-haired Ruth Bell, who modelled for Dior in Paris last week.

Positioned as 'luxury make-up for millennials', all the packaging is fuss-free and practical in clear bottles so that you can see the products.

Meanwhile the foundations are waterproof so that you can look good even if you get get caught in a British summer downpour.

It is even rumoured that new Duchess of Sussex Megan Markle used the Backstage formula for her wedding thanks to friend and make-up artist Daniel Martin.

"I wanted 16 different levels of intensity but above all, six different skin undertones: rosy, olive, yellow, beige, etc. in total that makes 40 colours, allowing every woman to find the shade that best matches her complexion,” said makeup maestro Peter Philips, the creative director for all Dior Makeup.

The foundations range from shade number 0 in cool/rosy, neutral, to a 9 neutral — the deepest foundation shade Dior has ever created.

In the months to come, Dior says it will listen to customer feedback to make sure it adds new shads so that every single skin type in the world is catered to.
