TOT A LOT

Pageant-mad mum spends £800 per month on glitzy clothes, fake tan, make-up and false nails for her five-year-old

Arielle, five, is spoilt with new pageant dresses and outfits each month

A pageant-mad mum is spending £800 per month on her five year old’s glitzy lifestyle.

From spray tans, hair extensions, make-up and fake nails – Arielle, 5, is dolled up to look more like a teenager for her two monthly beauty pageants.

The couple dedicate the majority of their earnings to their daughter’s pageant success

Arielle enjoys dressing up so much that she now wears make-up on a daily basis, apart from during school hours.

Her mum, Enrika Milne, 27, stops at no cost to ensure her daughter wears the best dresses, shoes and glitzy accessories for the exciting events.

Arielle’s dresses cost £400 each and with entrance fees costing hundreds of pounds per pageant, as well as their accommodation and travel expenses, Enrika has claimed she spends almost her entire wages on her daughter.

With no social life of their own, Enrika and her husband, Wayne, 35, joke that their daughter is slowly bankrupting them with her extravagant lifestyle.

But with the beauty pageants being the most important event of their monthly calendar, they have no plans to stop anytime soon.

Enrika, a beautician, said: “Arielle has been entering pageants since she was two years old and she loves wearing make-up.

“She’ll often wear lipstick and mascara and she used to let me put fake lashes on too but she has since decided she doesn’t like them.

“Arielle’s pageants cost us £800 per month and although the cost means we can’t have a social life, she’s worth it.

“After we’ve paid for dresses, accommodation, petrol and all the glitzy extras as well as her beauty regime, we hardly have any money to spare.

“She has entered 30 pageants in total now and although she hasn’t yet won one we are so proud of how far she’s come.

“We’ve spent thousands on Arielle since we started the pageants three years ago.

“We will only stop entering Arielle if she ever tells us she doesn’t like it anymore.

“She has just been signed up to a modelling agency too, she’s our little star in the making.”

Despite facing some critics due to allowing Arielle to wear make-up and short dresses, Enrika claims most children do exactly the same – but behind closed doors.

She added: “The only difference between Arielle and most other five-year-olds is that we openly tell people that she wears make-up.

“Most little girls like experimenting with their mum’s make-up and due to the pageants she already knows how to put it on properly.

“It can take several hours to get Arielle ready for a pageant and we tend to ensure she has a spray tan so she’s brown a few days before.

“I don’t think there’s any harm in what we’re doing, she loves it – and not only that, she is doing really well at school too.

“It has massively improved her self confidence and we couldn’t be more proud when we watch her step on stage.”
