PARENTS are increasingly turning to unusual inspiration for baby names with children now named after mermaids and fairies.
Celebrities are infamous for choosing interesting names, with the Kardashian clan a good example with Dream, Stormi, Chicago and North some of their choices.
But it seems new parents are also looking elsewhere for a unique name.
Parenting sire has released a list of trending girls’ names – inspired by fairy tales.
The popularity of the genre has seen new parents opt for names such as the mother of dragons, Daenerys from Game of Thrones.
These quirky names are a far cry from the most popular girl’s names so far this year, with the website revealing the top five as Emma, Olivia, Ava, Isabella and Sophia.
