Royal butler claims Kate Middleton was more suited to royal life, but Meghan Markle will have her ‘own take’ on the role

IN a matter of weeks, Meghan Markle will join the royal family when she marries Prince Harry.
But a royal butler has revealed how he thinks that Kate Middleton was actually more suited to the transition due to her upbringing.
Butler Grant Harrold, who worked for Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry, said Meghan will have a “very different” experience to Kate.
Speaking to the , he said: “When the Duchess of Cambridge married into the family, she was British, she went to St Andrews, she has a good education.
“She was up on that, dare I say it, royal way of life. She wasn’t a stranger to it, she understood what she was expecting. It wasn’t second nature but it wasn’t difficult.”
Her experience, Grant claims, made for an easier transition than the American Suits actress, 36.
He explained: “The positives for Meghan I think is the duty of royalty has to have an element of acting about it - you have to put on a brave face, put the best foot forward, smile, say the right thing.”
However, the royal butler gushed about Meghan and said that he thinks she’ll adapt easily and will have her “own take” on the role.
Meghan has undergone intense security training in preparation for life as a future royal as the wife of Prince Harry.
The course is reportedly aimed at preparing Meghan for any possible emergency, including being kidnapped.
As part of that preparation she has had to endure the rigours of a series of exercises with the Special Air Service (SAS).
On top of all of this, Meghan will likely be given etiquette lessons on how to sit, get out of a car, walk down stairs, curtsy and greet people.
She will also be given guidelines on how to dress - and it's likely her penchant for short hemlines will need to go in favour of less risqué silhouettes.
Meghan was born Rachel Meghan Markle on August 4, 1981 and she was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
Meghan's mother Doria Radlan, a yoga instructor and social worker, and father Thomas divorced when the future princess was six.
Meghan describes her parents as "coming from little" but they were able to privately educate her in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles.
When she was little, Meghan spent a lot of time on the set of US TV show Married... with Children because her dad was a photography director on it.
Meghan was "discovered" at a party but while her career was starting out she worked as a freelance calligrapher.
Meanwhile Kate met Prince William when she was studying Art History at St Andrews University.
After graduating she worked at her parents’ business Party Pieces, and worked as a part-time buyer for Jigsaw for six months.
Although dubbed commoners, Kate’s parents Michael and Carole are self-made millionaires thanks to their business.
More on the royal family
They live in a £6million mansion in Bucklebury, Berkshire, and also own a flat in Chelsea, where their children have lived while in London.
The family's Party Pieces business is worth a cool £36.2million.
Meanwhile Forbes has estimated the Queen’s private net worth at around £415million.
It was previously revealed that Prince Harry is unlikely to share his fortune with Meghan Markle even after they’ve got married – because she’d be stung by American income tax.
