The posh playmates who could be the new royal prince’s BFF – from a party-loving billionaire’s grandson to an adorable Spice Girl’s offspring
AS well as siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the new Royal baby boy has a ready-made gang of very well-connected friends.
From a party-loving billionaire's grandson to an adorable Spice Girl offspring, here's who Kate and Will's brand prince could be enjoying playdates with.
MIA TINDALL
Mum & Dad: Zara Phillips, 36 and Mike Tindall, 39
What’s In The Piggybank?: £14 million
She’s set to become a big sister in the next few months, with mum Zara expecting her second child this summer, and 17th in line to the throne Mia – whose granny is Princess Anne – will also be a doting older second cousin to the new Royal baby.
Kate and equestrian Zara had a bump off at Easter when they both attended church in Windsor, with Kate, no doubt, passing on all her tips on how to handle two kids.
Mischievous Mia, four, is fast developing a reputation for being a bit of a tearaway, with ex-rugby player dad Mike describing her as having “a lot of energy”, and revealing she was their “saving grace” after Zara tragically miscarried in December 2016.
With notorious party animals for parents, Mia will no doubt be enjoying wild nights out with Baby Cambridge in around 18 years’ time.
CIENNA FINCH
Mum & Dad: Rupert Finch, 39 and Lady Natasha Rufus Issacs, 34
What’s In The Piggybank?: £5 million
Her dad’s an ex of Kate’s but that hasn’t stopped the two couples being firm friends and their sprogs, too.
Natasha and William have been friends since childhood, and Kate dated Rupert when they were both students at St Andrews University in 2001.
Cienna’s older sister Georgia, three, is a chum of Princess Charlotte and Cienna, who was born last May, is ready and waiting to team up with the new arrival.
Cienna is not only proper posh (her mum ‘Nats’, as Kate and Wills call her, is the daughter of the Marquess of Reading with a family fortune in the millions) but she’s a mini stylista too with Natasha the founder of ethical fashion label, Beulah London.
ISLA PHILLIPS
Mum & Dad: Peter Phillips, 40 and Summer Phillips, 39
What’s In The Piggybank?: £14 million
Another Royal second cousin for Baby Windsor, but while he or she will grow up in the world’s spotlight at Kensington Palace, Isla, six, and older sister Savannah, seven, live a much more incognito life in rural Norfolk with dad Peter, who is Princess Anne’s eldest son, and mum Summer.
They made their Buckingham Palace balcony debut last summer to mark the Queen’s 91st birthday, and we predict private playdates for Isla and the new baby at Kate and Will’s country home, Anmer Hall, which is close to the Phillips' house.
BLUEY BRANSON
Mum & Dad: Sam Branson, 31 and Isabella Calthorpe, 36
What’s In The Piggybank?: £3.4 billion
One-year-old Bluey’s mum Isabella was the girl who could have been Queen, turning Wills down when he and Kate were on their break in 2007.
But after rejecting a prince, actress Isabella bagged herself Sam Branson, son of Virgin's party-loving billionaire Richard, and the pair tied the knot in 2013 in South Africa, with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie in attendance.
Sam has been part of Wills’ and Harry’s Highgrove set for years, and Harry dated Bluey’s Aunt Cressida Bonas (Isabella’s sister) before falling for Meghan.
So this is one seriously well connected (and well off) baby.
Grace Van Cutsem
Mum & Dad: Hugh Van Cutsem, 43 and Lady Rose Astor, 39
What’s In The Piggybank?: Estimated to be in the millions
She was the adorable flower girl at Kate and Will’s wedding who was photographed on the Buckingham Palace balcony with her hands over her ears, during the noisy RAF fly past.
Now almost eleven, Grace, who is Prince William’s god-daughter, is set to take on an honorary ‘big sister’ role when the new baby arrives.
Hugh and Wills go way back, with Prince Charles a close friend of Hugh’s late father (also called Hugh), and Wills was an usher at the Van Cutsem’s wedding.
Rose is the founder of trendy London private member’s club for kids, Maggie and Rose, and is Samantha Cameron’s step-cousin.
In a few years time, Grace will be the perfect age for taking on babysitting duties, giving Kate and Wills a night off from their brood.
Isabella Windsor
Mum & Dad: Lord Frederick Windsor, 39 and Sophia Winkleman, 37
What’s In The Piggybank?: Estimated to be in the millions
The youngest daughter of minor Royal Freddie Windsor and actress wife Sophia (who is the sister of TV presenter Claudia), Isabella is a distant cousin of the Cambridge kids, and her and sister Maud, four, are already BFFs of George and Charlotte.
George and Maud are schoolmates, attending uber posh primary school Thomas’ Battersea together, with Charlotte and Isabella, two, predicted to attend there too in a few years.
Baby Cambridge will have quite the playground posse when it comes to their turn to start school!
Montague Horner
Mum & Dad: Geri Halliwell, 44 and Christian Horner, 43
What’s In The Piggybank?: £33 million
Wills and Geri’s unlikely friendship goes all the way back to the 90’s when he was a fresh-faced teen and she was a Spice Girl, their paths crossing at numerous charity events and concerts over the years.
Now a mum of two and married to F1 boss Christian, Geri will be keen for her one-year-old son Montague - or Monty as he’s known – to carry on this friendship.
With the Spice Girls rumoured to be booked to perform at Harry and Meghan’s wedding next month, that could be the perfect opportunity to introduce the two tots!
Reggie and Olivia Ennis-Hill
Mum & Dad: Jessica Ennis-Hill, 32 and Andy Hill
What’s In The Piggybank?: £5 million
Sports fan William and retired Olympian Jess have bonded in the past, presenting awards together at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year, and he made her a Dame last April at a ceremony held at Buckingham Palace.
She gave birth to Reggie in 2014 and Olivia last year, so if Kate fancies a jog around Kensington Gardens with the buggy, who better to join her than Jess and her kids?
Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr
Mum & Dad: Serena Williams, 36 and Alexia Ohanian, 34
What’s In The Piggybank?: Upwards of £105 million
Kate’s a huge tennis fan and never misses Wimbledon, so it’s no surprise her and Serena have become firm friends, with the Duchess even breaking royal protocol and posing for a selfie with the player at the 2016 tournament.
In September 2017, Serena gave birth to her first child, Alexis, with husband Alexia who’s the co-founder of social news site Reddit, and she returned to the court in February.
She’s set to compete at Wimbledon in July, and will be hoping her and Alexis can arrange an off-court playdate with Kate and the new Prince or Princess.
Arlo Goldsmith
Mum & Dad: Ben Goldsmith, 37 and Jemima Jones, 30
What’s In The Piggybank?: £300 million
Their dads went to upper-crust school Eton together and Arlo, seven months, was born at the same hospital – St Mary’s Hospital, London – where Baby C is expected to be delivered, maybe even in the same £6,000 per night delivery suite in the hospital’s exclusive Lindo Wing.
Financier Ben, and his second wife Jemima, can host sleepovers for Arlo and the new baby at their 200-acre Somerset eco farm, with Jemima, a model turned celebrity caterer, rustling up some turkey twizzlers and waffles for the pair.
Meanwhile, here how the birth of the Duchess of Cambridge's third child unfolded.
Plus, these are the bizarre birthing rules Kate had to follow when she had her third child.
