Meghan Markle was ‘tense and distant’ with first husband but has ‘sexual chemistry’ with Harry, says a body language expert

PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle look more loved up than ever, as we countdown the final weeks before they tie the knot.
On Friday, they travelled to Bath to meet with Invictus athletes and looked the picture of happiness in the run-up to walking down the aisle.
But this won't be the first time Meghan has said “I Do” - she was married to producer Trevor Engelson for two years before filing for divorce in 2013, citing irreconcilable differences.
There are few snaps of the former couple – but those that still exist show a very different relationship to hers and Harry’s.
According to body language expert Elizabeth Kuhnke, the author of Body Language: Learn How To Read Others And Communicate With Confidence, Harry and Meghan have obvious closeness and chemistry – while Meghan, at times, appeared “tense” with her former husband.
Here’s what clues Meghan's body language tells us about her relationships…
“Forced smile” vs. up close and personal
Speaking to , Elizabeth said: “[Trevor’s] smile is forced, with tension around the sides of his mouth. Neither his cheeks nor his eyes are engaged.
“His stiff, upright posture and slightly pulled back upper torso also indicates discomfort.
“Megan looks off to her left with a happier smile, although her eyes are still not fully engaged.”
In this snap, Elizabeth notes that Trevor is pulling Meghan towards him while she seems to be pulling away for the waist.
She says that Trevor’s hand in pocket signals “discomfort” and that their “smiles are opposite”.
Elizabeth added: “The differences in their body language indicate a lack of genuine warmth and compatibility.”
Meanwhile, Meghan and Harry give off a strong and secure vibe in their close snaps.
She added: “They lean into one another, with their heads touching, one of the most intimate body language signals, indicating sexual attraction.”
Elizabeth added that Meghan looks deeply interested in her partner, and that the clapping of her hands shows “what matters to him matters to her”.
She also notes that both of their upper bodies are touching, they look relaxed around one another and that there’s “no doubt” they have strong sexual chemistry.
"Frozen smile" vs totally in sync
In this group shot, Elizabeth notes that Meghan positions herself with her female friends, while Trevor is with his male pals – putting distance between them.
Elizabeth adds that Trevor’s smile seems “genuine” – while Meghan’s smile appears more “frozen”.
She adds: “Leaning into her friend while holding a drink and tucking her handbag under her arm mirrors her friend’s pose, not Trevor’s. This suggests that Meghan is more comfortable with the woman than with him.”
On the other hand, Meghan and Harry are in sync and “mirror” one another.
Meghan’s eyes are fixed on Harry’s and he leans in to her as she listens.
Their steps also mirror one another’s – indicating a well matched duo.
Out of tune vs reassurance
In this snap, Trevor pulls Meghan in close – something that Elizabeth says indicates closeness.
However, she notes that both of their bodies and facial expressions seem “stilted” and that Meghan has twisted her body into an “unnatural” position.
The expert adds that her smile does not seem genuine, as there is no crinkling of the eyes or lifting of the cheeks, and that Trevor is not “engaged”.
She also said that Trevor’s forehead appears to show tension and that their un-matching body language indicates that the couple is “out of tune” with one another.
But, with Meghan and Harry, their facial expressions reflect each other’s – “indicating genuine compatibility.”
Elizabeth adds: “They are both beaming in equal measure. Her shoulders are slightly raised, offering her protecting, while Harry’s tell-tale sign of discomfort - right hand crossing his body at the waist - indicates the same.”
She added that, judging by the body language in the snaps, that Meghan appears “happier and freer” with Harry and that how they behave indicates that their “relationship is harmonious”.
