Mum reveals genius hack to clean an IKEA high chair… so were YOU aware of this trick?
ANYONE with kids knows that cleaning up after them can be a nightmare, as babies have a miraculous knack for getting food everywhere.
However, one mum has discovered a very quick way getting her child’s high chair spick and span, and it uses something you probably already have in the kitchen.
The mother explained on how she had struggled cleaning the ANTILOP high chair from IKEA, which is a bargain at just £14.
Since the furniture item is plastic, she realised that she could just put the plastic part in the dishwasher, instead of hand washing it with a cloth every time.
The gobsmacked mother worked out just how long she had suffered washing the chair: “182-and-a-half hours, based on rough calculations and the assumption that I spent five minutes of every day undertaking this activity.”
She told her husband her revelation, to which he replied: “Of course. It’s plastic!”
The mum did point out that you can’t simply put the whole thing in the machine, but some simple disassembly will make the cleaning job much easier.
She said: “The legs can't go in the dishwasher. So take them off before you get too excited and run your chair through the pot cycle.”
But the seat and the table are made of a common plastic, which should be safe for the bottom rack of the dishwasher.
So were you aware of this clever hack? It may just save you a few hours, like this crafty mother.
