Is this what the Royal wedding cake will look like? Violet Cakes officially chosen by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their big day
Kensington Palace have announced that Harry and Meghan have chosen American Claire Ptak to create their wedding cake
COULD this be what the Royal wedding cake will look like?
It has been announced baker Claire Ptak from Violet Cakes will make Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding cake - which will be lemon and elderflower.
Claire runs Violet Cakes London, a bakery based in Hackney, east London, and has reportedly been asked to incorporate the "bright flavours of Spring" for the May 19 wedding.
The cake will be covered in buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers.
Taking to her Instagram account, Claire shared: "Kinda excited to announce this one!!
"Violet has been chosen to make the wedding cake for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. @kensingtonroyal.
"They both share so many of the same values regarding food provenance, sustainability, seasonality and of course, flavour! Xxx 📸 press association."
Meghan previously interviewed Claire for her lifestyle website thetig.com - which she shut down when her relationship with Prince Harry was confirmed.
Tatler, described Violet as an "East London hotspot", adding: "The rustic café feels a bit like stepping into your cool auntie's kitchen. We could quite happily waste away an entire Sunday afternoon here."
