JUST when we thought nail trends couldn't get anymore out of hand, another outrageous gem finds its way on to our Instagram feed.
The corkscrew nail trend is the new mesmerising manicure taking fashion followers by surprise.

Kiara Sky Nails created the bizarre look by intricately shaping and and painting an acrylic nail.
First, the nail was filed to a sharp point, and then a plastic straw was placed beneath it as a base to weave the corkscrew shape.
The artist used glitter acrylic to create the shape around the straw before letting it dry and removing the straw, leaving the nail set in place.
The instagrammer than painted and decorated the screw with a lilac colour polish and diamante additions.

The corkscrew nails have been praised as being a handy replacement to open up a bottle of wine, but we wouldn't recommend trying that at home.
The nails are completely impractical for every day use, but are nonetheless fascinating to watch come to life.
Although this trend is unique to say the least, they aren't the weirdest we've seen yet - as one artist managed to bring her nail design to life with a set of blinking eyes.
The trend seems to be sweeping Instagram under the hashtag 'corkscrewnails', with other accounts posting their spiral creations.
Online users were fascinated by the nails, as one commented: "This would be so cool with a mermaid set or theme!"
Another said: "Creative and pretty but not practical."
Some were unimpressed, with one commenting: "What the hell is wrong with people?"

Texting may be out of the question if you opt for a set of these, but it might just be worth it.
What could be next? Creating a whole tool box on your nails, complete with a hammer and a set of pliers, maybe?
