From meringue to slinky, we rate six different wedding dress options for Meghan Markle’s big day
CHOOSING the perfect wedding dress is not easy... especially when the world will be watching.
But Meghan Markle is said to have at last picked “the one” – or a designer, at least. Rumours are rife the 36-year-old has gone for Australian duo Ralph & Russo – the fashion label behind that £56,000 frock she wore for her engagement photos with Prince Harry – to design her bridal gown.
But will the former actress choose a traditional style like future sister-in-law Kate or surprise the crowds by flaunting her famous figure?
Here, Meghan lookalike Sarah Mhlanga tries on bridalwear from the High Street ahead of the wedding in May.
And fashion assistant CIGDEM TANRIOGLU rates each for their royal potential.
3/10
Perfect for a register office but we can’t imagine this making its way to Windsor Castle. While it might show off her wedding shoes, it is too ageing for Harry’s girl.
2/10
This tiered skirt reminds us a little bit of a loo-roll holder. With so much fabric, it would be too overpowering for Meghan’s petite frame and would make her look like a meringue.
10/10
Nips in at the waist and skims over curves without flashing too much. Beading gives it luxury feel fit for a royal wedding. Here’s hoping that Meghan looks this elegant.
8/10
This flattering satin dress reminds us of Pippa Middleton’s bridesmaid gown at her sister’s wedding. Slinky and seriously sexy but we doubt the Queen would approve.
4/10
Meghan is a rule breaker when it comes to royal protocol but would she dare to wear a white jumpsuit? Unlikely. She would look great but this is a step too far.

6/10
Elegant with beaded detail but not the most flattering. Meghan wore a Grecian-style gown for her first wedding and she won’t want to be reminded of that.
