'WORTH EVERY PENNY'

Couple use life savings of £60k on IVF to create their dream family

David and Rebecca spent a fortune and a decade before making their dream family a reality - and 'it's all been worthwhile'

AN IVF couple spent £60,000 making their dream family a reality — complete with triplets.

David and Rebecca Wooldridge used their life savings but say it was worth every penny.

The couple tried for their first baby in 2006 but it took a decade before their family of four was complete.

Rebecca, 44, said: “Despite the emotional roller-coaster we’ve been through, it’s all been worthwhile. We made sacrifices on holidays and materialistic items so we had enough money.”

She had been told her egg count was low before she and David, now 49, began spending just under £50,000 on four rounds of IVF — both in the UK and abroad.

They ended up conceiving son Felix, now four, naturally. But the couple, from Sutton Coldfield, West Mids, struggled to have a second child. They flew to Cyprus for a fifth round of IVF, spending £10,000.

It led to the arrival in 2016 of their non-identical triplets Amelie, Maya-Albertine and Etta, now 16 months old. Rebecca, a blogger and full-time mum, and David are now sharing their story to give hope to others struggling to conceive.

She said: “Now we've got the triplets, life has been hectic.

“Felix loves being a big brother to his sisters and despite needing two washing machines to cope with our laundry, we wouldn't change it for the world.”
