Brit Awards 2018 – Anna Friel, Louise Redknapp and Mollie King lead the worst dressed on the red carpet
THE Brit Awards are in full swing – but sadly for this lot there isn’t a prize for worst dressed.
Every year something seems to happen to a handful of celebrities between the time they leave the house and arrive at the ceremony – their outfits go from fab to drab… or just plain, ‘oh my GAD’.
Jess Glynne
One look at Jess Glynne and you can’t help but think the one place she would rather be is Specsavers buying a pair of adult sunglasses.
The 28-year-old looked like she had woken up in 1996 and come straight to the ceremony.
She didn’t even have time to put a top on… unless it was just one in the same beige colour as her suit – and her skin.
Stormzy
Someone needs to tell rapper Stormzy that Pee Wee Herman just called.
He wants his look back.
Louise Redknapp
Gorgeous Louise hasn’t done her incredible figure any favours with this unflattering frock.
Accentuating lumps and bumps instead of showcasing her curves, she also seemed to run out of enthusiasm when it came to picking the right bag to leave the house with.
Anna Friel
The former Brookside star came as her alter ego Anna Fashion-Fail tonight.
However odd her outfit choice, it was nice to see that despite her Hollywood success, she’s still a soap star red carpet dresser at heart.
Hailey Baldwin
Model Hailey Baldwin showed just how hard it is to wear black lipstick – if she can’t pull it off, who can?
She also edged close to fashion fail territory with her black and blue dress.
Mollie King
Saturdays star Mollie King arrived looking like she had been invited to a Grease party… and decided to come as Danny AND Sandy.
If she ditched the white T-shirt, this look would be a winner.
Katie Keight
We’re not sure if it’s the fishnet dress or the bandana that has got Katie looking like an extra from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Regardless of which nautical nod it is, she shows that you should just be proud to be who you ‘arrrrh‘.
Raye
Raye has discovered a whole new fashion disaster that only usually applies to gingers that overdo the fake tan.
Matching your hair to your skintone is rarely a good look.
Noomi Rapace
The Swedish actress wore a look fresh from the LFW catwalk to the Brits.
But when Matty Bovan sent his models down the runway wearing this ‘deconstructed knit and tulle gown’, they weren’t wearing a belt that looked like it had been pilfered from Willy Wonka’s cupboard.
Gemma Atkinson
An early arrival at tonight’s event at the O2 was Gemma Atkinson, who managed to totally disguise her figure in a frumpy off the shoulder gown.
Considering she managed to successfully hide her relationship with Strictly colleague Gorka Marquez for months, it’s no surprise that keeping her gym-honed curves out of sight was easily achieved.
Cheryl Tweedy
With rumours suggesting that she’s set to split from baby daddy Liam Payne, perhaps wearing a dress that looked like it could take flight at any moment was n’t Cheryl‘s best idea.
Her shoes are also bound to divide opinion… but at least they match the giant rose tattoo on her bum.
Amber Davies
Love Island winner Amber Davies also hit a fashion bum note when she arrived on the red carpet wearing a sixties inspired mini-dress that was adorned with huge maribou feathers down one side.
While her hair looked great – the huge Cher-like perm she sported to the National Television Awards was nowhere to be seen – the reality champ could have done with a touch more bronzer.
Jonas Blue
If DJ Jonas Blue had his arm in a sling rather than his pocked, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Napoleon Bonaparte had risen from the dead to attend tonight’s event.
Instead the double nominee is probably just working out how he could carry home tonight’s treasures if he wins British Single and British Artist Video for Mama.
Ellie Goulding
Only one woman can pull off shoulder pads this wide – and her name’s Joan Collins, not Ellie Goulding.
The singer looked like she ordered her dress online while caught up in a Dynasty binge – which when it comes to red carpet styling, is better than finding fashion inspiration while watching Shameless.
Maggie Rogers
Although she has tried to jazz it up with ‘proper shoes’, US singer Maggie Rogers still looks like she’s popped in to the Brits on her way to Asda.
The outfit does look incredibly comfy though – even if it might just be a bed sheet tied up with a rubber band at the back.
Pixie Lott
Just like Bella Hadid, Pixie knows the power of a ‘is she or isn’t she wearing knickers’ dress.
The former Strictly contestant looked great in lilac – but being caught at this angle was a bad mauve.
Louisa Johnson
Everyone has that cousin who raids all the Quality Street on Christmas Eve and takes out all the green triangles.
Well we now know what Louisa did with hers.
Anne-Marie
Like in Terminator 2 when the T1000 comes out of the floor in molten metal form, singer Anne-Marie’s extra-long red dress made it look like she was rising out of the ground.
The gorgeous singer paired her ruffled dress with a matching lip… that also matched the carpet.
Caroline Flack
Caroline Flack made sure her enviable legs were the star of the show in her sage-coloured gown.
However the colour did nothing for her, and left her looking a tad washed out.
Tallia Storm
Tallia Storm – who is currently looking for love on E4’s Celebs Go Dating – made the ultimate fashion faux pas in her sequinned gown.
The Scottish singer happily paired red and pink, a tonal combination regarded by most as just too close for comfort.
Earlier today she told Fabulous that she likes her quirky sense of style – good on her!
Marvin Humes
Marvin Humes wore a bomber jacket to the bash – and while he has to be applauded for making comfort a priority, it does make you miss the days he would arrive with the JLS lads in a T-shirt with a neckline that went down to the belly button.
