Who is Allie Sherlock? 12-year-old Irish busker being hailed as the next Adele who performed on The Ellen Show

Who is Allie Sherlock?

Allie is a 12-year-old street busker from Cork, Ireland.

She sings and plays the guitar – and her amazing voice has earned her the label of ‘the next Adele’.

The youngster has more than 280,000 subscribers on her – a number which we’re sure is about to skyrocket.

In her About Me section, the adorable lass explains: “I’m sort of new to youtube, but I’ve been playing guitar 3 years”.

How did Allie Sherlock become famous?

Allie really caught the world’s attention when she appeared on US fave The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January 2018.

She was invited onto the chat show after flying to LA to work with top producer Ryan Tedder.

The OneRepublic front man – who has worked with stars including Adele, U2, Beyonce and Maroon 5 – contacted Allie after spotting one of her performances on Dublin’s Grafton Street on Instagram.

Allie and her no1 fan, her dad Mark, travelled to the City of Angels to meet Ryan – with the schoolgirl excitedly taking to Instagram to document her trip.

She was delighted to also meet Pharrell Williams and Charlie Puth.

Before leaving the States, Allie wrote on Instagram: “Had an amazing week with @ryantedder I loved every minute of it thank you for being so good and kind to me and my dad.. looking forward to working with you xx”.

Allie then blew Ellen and her millions of viewers away with her performance of Adele song A Million Years Ago.

She now hopes to release her own music in the not-so-distant future – in collaboration with Ryan.

Admitting that he’s been approached by record labels in the past, Mark said: “I didn’t want to sign with someone who would work Allie to death.

“She’s only 12 so I don’t want it taking over her life. Things felt good with Ryan and he has a more modern way of doing things.

“My priority is that it’s fun and it’s light-hearted. Whatever happens after that is all good.

“I wanted to make sure she wasn’t working too much and I was keen to limit the hours she spent in the studio but of course once she got in there I couldn’t get her out.

“She just loved every second of it.”
