The ‘snug’ will be 2018’s top piercing trend… so are YOU brave enough to try it?

PIERCING lovers are always finding new places to add some jewellery.

But what are snug piercings and where exactly is your snug located?

The part of the middle ear located a bit above the anti-tragus is called the snug.

The exact position will vary person to person on the shape of their ear.

While the piercing looks fab, it's actually one of the hardest places to pierce and has a long healing time.

Snug piercings should be healed within six months, sometimes longer depending on your body.

The earring has to pass through a thick cartilage area and is on a curve so the area is under extra pressure during healing.

People have had mixed opinions on whether the piercing hurt, with some saying they felt no pain at all.

Some people took to Twitter to share their experiences with snug piercings.

Coll Greens said she was frustrated that hers took two years to heal.

However, Molly shared her helpful tip, saying: "I've been using coconut oil on my snug piercing for about a week now and it's healing so perfectly".

Jasmine Fisher added: "Getting my snug piercing is the best thing I've done".
