American brand Clean Slate Cosmetics's whipped highlighter has been dubbed 'poop highlighter' by the internet and the brand markets the product under the #poophighlighter hashtag on their

The creators pride themselves on being "cruelty free and created with love".

What makes the highlighter different is it's texture.

Instead of powder and liquid highlighters, this is a whipped formula and is best applied with "your fingers or a sponge".

As the brand is relatively new, many reviewers found them via Instagram.

The product is sold for $16.50 (£12.20) and comes in six shades: Ziana, Melanin, Indaglo, Glazed Donut, Cover Glow and Blue Flame, you can buy them

Fans took to social media to share their views on the highlighter.

Commenting on Olivia said: "ewww gross, I could never bring myself to use this in public".

@toobrite added: 'I would never buy this because it's visually displeasing".
