You may be surprised by some of the outcomes
A NEW dress is a surefire way to banish those winter blues. But you don’t need to splash out, PrettyLittleThing.com is flogging frocks for A FIVER. But will you look a million dollars or dressed down?
Here, model Lauren Innes, 33, gives SIOBHAN O’CONNOR her verdict on ten of them and marks them too.
Nude bandeau - 3/10
“There’s not much to this dress at all, it’s tiny with no detail.
“No wonder it’s so cheap, as they’ve obviously saved money on fabric."
Green on shoulder - 8/10
“A good choice for something a little more covered, though super short. The long sleeve makes it a better choice for a night out, as it provides a little extra warmth."
Nude strappy - 5/10
“This isn’t the most flattering colour, at a glance it would look like I was naked.
“But you can’t go wrong with the style, it’s just a basic, strappy midi dress – and it’s a bargain."
Strappy floral - 2/10
“This looks more like a nightie than a party dress.
“It’s super sheer and the fabric is thin and flimsy, I reckon it would rip easily."
Blue cut-out with straps - 4/10
“The fit isn’t great, the straps are meant to be tight against my stomach but instead hang loose.
“The fabric sags around my bum and tum too, I have to tug it down as it keeps gathering up."
Black pu bardot - 9/10
“Off the hanger this looks hideous. . . but once on I think it’s the best.
“The material is slightly thicker and doesn’t cling to any lumps and bumps, while thankfully the length keeps my bum safely under wraps."
Pink cut-out - 6/10
“I have never seen a dress like this, I thought the cut-out section was for the back.
“If you are confident with flashing a little flesh then this is a good choice."
Blue off shoulder with puff sleeves - 7/10
“I like the sweetheart neckline, it is really flattering. The fit is figure- hugging, though you can’t wear lacy undies with it otherwise the fabric will cling."
