A THRIFTY fashion blogger has spent five days wearing clothes she bought for £4 or less on eBay.
Mia Maples, from Canada, spent two months bidding on the garments and waiting for them to arrive before she was able to share the results of her discount haul on YouTube.
Mia wore the five low-cost outfits while on holiday in Hawaii with her family.
Her first look featured a £3 “imitation” Calvin Klein cropped logo T-shirt, £2.26 black shorts with white racer stripes and a £1.48 black suede-effect baseball cap.
Each piece fit her £4-or-less rule, and added up to £6.74 for the whole outfit.
Mia tried on the outfit and said it “wasn’t too bad”, but the shorts felt a bit “too big and gappy” around the waistband.
Moving on to her second look, Mia said she was worried how the £2.13 white tube top and £3.27 pink skirt would look saying it’s “so not my style at all”.
The next outfit was a faux chiffon red floral off-the-shoulder dress, which was priced at £3.32. Mia said the dress was pretty but “completely see-through”.
For her final two outfits, Mia planned on wearing the same pair of light blue trousers but with different tops.
She was unimpressed with the “unflattering” trousers, which cost £3.59, but liked the “cute” £2.86 pink off-the-shoulder crop top.
Mia said she would be unable to wear the trousers as part of her frugal experiment as they didn’t fit.
The second top, a £2.52 black silk-effect camisole with lace detailing, was her favourite purchase.
Mia then put her new capsule wardrobe to the test in Hawaii.
On the first day she wore the red floral dress, and concluded it was far too sheer to wear anywhere but the beach.
On the second day for a family hike, Mia wore the Calvin Klein crop top, black shorts and cap.
She liked how the clothes looked on, but said the shorts weren’t made very well as the waistband detail frayed after just a couple of hours wear.
Mia wore the black cami with a pair of denim shorts she already owned on the third day.
She said the fabric was soft, the fit was good and she planned to buy it again in another colour.

Mia filmed the final outfit, a pink skirt with brace detailing, back at home.
