JUMPER FOR JOY

How to keep your statement winter woolies on-trend all year round

Don’t retire your Christmas attire just yet, these high street jumpers will work all year round

WE ALL remember Mark Darcy’s debut in Bridget Jones’s Diary, and while his Rudolf the reindeer turtleneck wasn’t so chic, there’s no denying that it was memorable.

The Christmas jumper, once something to be cringed at, has since become a signifier of the holiday season that’s celebrated for its sheer lack of taste.

Think snowmen, slogans, sequins, pompoms and flashing lights – basically, the uglier the better.

There’s even a date dedicated to the novelty knitwear, Christmas Jumper Day, which sees celebrities going all out in aid of charity.

This year, Myleene Klass, Holly Willoughby and Love Island’s Montana Brown all took part in the fun to help raise funds for Save The Children.

But not all your winter woolies need to be of the tacky variety - think statement colours and prints paired with luxe fabrics.
