But according to a survey of couples in Australia by online love retailer , most people would risk breaking wind in front of their other half after six months together.

That's three months longer than it takes them to drop the L-bomb, apparently - saying "I love you" usually takes three.

When it comes to the serious stuff, 28 per cent would move in together after six months or less, and 13 per cent would pop the question - or say yes - in that same period of time.

Though 45 per cent of people said it would take them a year to get engaged, while 51 per cent said after 12 months they'd get married.

And 41 per cent admitted they would try for a baby after the same amount of time.
