Who will design Meghan Markle’s wedding dress? French designer Roland Mouret tipped to be a top choice
NOW the date has been announced for the royal wedding, speculation has turned to who will design Meghan Markle’s dress.
No news has been released yet of who will be tasked with the honour, but one of the top choices is thought to be French designer Roland Mouret.
The designer is currently tipped to be one of the hot favourites by and Meghan is already a fan of his work.
And this weekend speculated: “If it is figure-skimming feminine silhouettes that Markle is looking for, the French-born, London-based designer may well prove to be her man.”
The Suits actress has worn Roland Mouret gowns at least twice and the pair became friends following a chance encounter in a hotel lift in Istanbul.
Meghan once recalled: “This man in a bathrobe said ‘I love to dress you’.
“I thought ‘whaaat?’ Then he told me who he was and we’ve been friends ever since.”
Mouret gowns start from £1,745 in price, although a bespoke dress is most likely for the royal-to-be as she walks down the aisle at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May.
Currently the favourite designer on the BetFair website is Erdem (2/1), which would tie in with Meghan’s roots to her time spent in Toronto for the filming of Suits.
Canadian and Turkish designer Erdem Moralıoğlu has previously worked alongside Diane von Fürstenberg and his clothes have been worn by the likes of Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightley and Sarah Jessica Parker amongst others.
