Sales of erectile dysfunction drugs DOUBLE as men prepare for a merry Christmas
SALES of erectile dysfunction drugs double in the lead up to Christmas as men prepare for an extra frisky festive season.
Pharmacies have reported a 61 per cent increase in demand for the medication that helps men get and maintain an erection.
According to Oxford Online Pharmacy the last week of November and early December consistently shows highest sales for prescription pills like Viagra.
And they are expecting sales of the drug Cialis, also known as the weekend pill, to skyrocket after it's patent ran out in the UK last week.

Experts believe that more people will be looking for extra loving this Christmas, or may need help getting it up in the bedroom because of the extra stress the festive season can cause.
Stuart Gale, owner of the Oxfordshire based pharmacy, said: "Christmas can be a pressure pot of financial worries and emotional stress and for men this can impact them physically, manifesting as a difficulty achieving and maintaining an erection.
"Medication to treat this condition is limited on the NHS and this, combined with the removal of stigma around erectile dysfunction, and the emergence of legitimate online doctor and pharmacy services, has led to more and more men going online to access treatment."
Erectile dysfunction is classified by an inability to get and maintain an erection.
The medication works by relaxing the blood vessels, which temporarily increases blood flow to the penis, allowing a man to get an erection.
Stuart added: "There can be a temptation to acquire the medication without prescription and we often hear stories of people experiencing the adverse effects of doing so.
"We want to remind those seeking medication online of the easy steps they can take to verify a website’s legitimacy.
"Often men suffering with erectile dysfunction get stuck in a spiral of fear of failure.
"If symptoms are driven by psychological issues, knowing they are physically able to respond to their partner can greatly improve any negative feelings they may have towards sex.
"Erectile dysfunction treatments can provide the necessary kick-start to get everything going again, giving them one less thing to worry about this holiday season."
