From posh pants to a classic coat – we reveal what M&S has in store for their Spring/Summer 2018 collection
Stripes, checks and polka dots are dancing before our eyes and will instantly give your wardrobe a fresh update
CHRISTMAS is so last season for fashionistas.
Spring has sparked into life and yesterday M&S unveiled its new collection.
Good news is, we’re in for a long, hot, stylish 2018.
Stripes, checks and polka dots are dancing before our eyes and will instantly give your wardrobe a fresh update.
And M&S has brought back its trusty trench coat. Complete with statement puffed sleeves, it’s yours for £89.
A reversible khaki leather jacket hits the top price point of £249, with Style Director Belinda Earl saying the M&S customer “sees the value in it”.
I’ll be looking forward to buying the peasant dress from the Autograph range at a gentler £65.
This year M&S really upped its accessories game. Just wait until you see its pastel flats and ankle boots. Bags look far more expensive than they actually are, thanks to modern shapes and intricate designs.
Following on from last season, its “see now, buy now” offering is on sale from today.
Dubbed the Evening Edit, it’s an 11-piece capsule collection of oriental-inspired prints and kimono-style cuts, created with budding designer and Graduate Fashion Week runner-up Claire Tagg.
It’s not just the clobber that is set to be the talk of the town, though.
There’s serious staffing changes at the chainstore, which has seen sales climbing after a disappointing early 2017.
Jill McDonald is the new MD for clothing and home, and told me: “There are real consistencies for an M&S customer — great quality, value, classics updated with a modern twist and I think this
collection does those things.”
It might seem a long way off, but when those January blues hit, rest assured M&S will aim to put a spring in your step.
