Who is Adwoa Aboah?

Adwoa Aboah is the model who has been unveiled as the cover star for December 2017's edition of UK Vogue.

The December edition is new editor Edward Enninful's first for British Vogue.

Adwoa, 25, appears in a 14-page shoot, as well as the cover, and was styled by the new editor-in-chief himself.

She was first shot to fame when she appeared on the cover of a 2015 edition of Italian Vogue.

The in-demand Adwoa was even nominated for Model of the Year ahead of December’s leading Fashion Awards.

It follows a whirlwind 12 months in which she has graced the cover of American Vogue, been named GQ Woman of the Year and walked for Chanel, Dior and Burberry.

As well as a model, Adwoa is also contributing editor at the title (appointed by Edward back in July) and is also an ambassador for the British Fashion Council.

She is also an activist for feminism.

The young star has also launched her own organisation called Gurls Talk, a platform that aims to encourage young women to speak about about issues they face -  whether that be mental health, body image, addiction, sexuality or "just whatever we want".

This is her real passion project, gaining pace with more than 100,000 Instagram followers and hosting talks and workshops for women.

And, fashion obviously runs in Adwoa's blood - her mother is Camilla Lowther, one of the world's most successful fashion agents.

But Adwoa insists her Ghanaian dad Charles, a location scout, and British mum Camilla, who runs a creative agency, never pushed her into modelling.

She maintains it was as much her choice to go as her parents’, but concedes it was a “pivotal moment”.

Adwoa is rumoured to be dating photographer Riccardo Ambrosio, and splits her time between her parents’ London home and her apartment in New York.

She is often spotted hanging out with her best friend and fellow model Cara Delevingne.

The pair have been best mates for almost ten years and even have matching half-heart tattoos.

Cara interviewed Adwoa for a Teen Vogue last year and told her: “There are people who are a constant inspiration, people I look up to and who make me want to be stronger — you are one of them to me.”
