OFF THE BALL

Woman added to a ‘football mums’ group chat by mistake mercilessly trolls the other mums… and they do NOT take it well

THERE are two kinds of people in this world: those who honestly fess up when they're sent a wrong number text, and the jokers who can't help but play along.

Not only is Christi Rantis Lally, from Illinois, in the second camp - she's also a truly evil genius when it comes to winding people up.

Knowing it wouldn't go down well with the serious parents in the chat, she wrote: "My kid is the best on the team... just sayin."

And with a reputation for being super competitive when it comes to their kids, the football mums called foul right away.

When her comment was questioned, Christi stirred the pot even more, writing: "I mean... my kid has raw talent."

One of the parents took the bait, saying: "Good for him. So why is he playing for the village?"

Christi hit back, saying: "I think when he's older he will realize what a great influence his talent was on the other kids. It's very noble actually considering he's been scouted."

Already on the verge of receiving a red card, Christi's wind-up response really hit a nerve with the competitive parents.

One replied: "The way that I understand soccer all the kids have talent those are the rules."

Another said: "It's not the talent or the goals, it's the time the kid actually gets on the field."

Of course, Christi didn't let up, and set her sights on a controversial new target: the snacks provided at the kids' football matches.

She wrote: "Participation trophies are for little sissy players. By the way the snacks suck lately," before doubling down with a ridiculous brag.

Joker Christi wrote: "Yeah but is everyone invited to David Beckham's home for Christmas? I don't think so."

This was enough to whip the other parents into a rage, with one replying: "Ok I  don't know wtf is going on here but I'm getting p****d off."

Another said: "We will all see each other later today, I look forward to it."

And another reference to the sub-par snacks from Christi, one of the parents decided they had had enough.

They said: "The fact that you had the audacity to say that your child is the 'best' I think makes us all p****d.

"You think your child is sooooo good then sign him up for club, and also if you think the snacks have been sucking lately, please bring your own damn snacks for your child is not only are you selfish but you are also ungrateful."

And before long, Christi's banter had attracted the attention of the mysterious Coach Juan, who was apparently going to be informed that one of the parents had been acting up.

Chisti only jacked it all in after making a ludicrous brag about Cristiano Ronaldo praising her child's made-up football skills.

Sharing screenshots from the exchange to Facebook last week, Christi wrote: "They are a bunch of parents and a coach for some kids soccer team.

"Instead of telling them they had the wrong number, I did this. I am a horrible person... I'm so sorry Coach Juan."

The post attracted over 15,000 likes and shares, with one commenter writing: "Now, is this a joke, or are you genuinely a terrible person?"

In a later post Christi explained that she had eventually texted the group back to apologise, but was still being threatened by an angry dad.

Unfortunately, there was no news on how long-suffering Coach Juan reacted.

Previously, we told how a woman was mocked for a furious text to the girl whose boyfriend got her pregnant.
