UNEVEN hemlines are still big news.
Irregular styles were a big hit this summer and thankfully they are here to stay.

NIGHT fever, night fever – the catwalk definitely knows how to do it with boogie shoes.
But for a fraction of the price, bag your dancing shoes from New Look as they have great alternatives.
CHECKS
GET in check as the classic print has taken over from stripes.
But make sure they take centre stage with head-to-toe dressing.
From bold tartans to Prince of Wales checks, it’s time to get on board with plaid.
DOUBLE DENIM
DIOR has spoken and double denim is no longer a fashion faux pas.
Even rapper Kanye West made sure the casual fabric played a part at his fifth Yeezy show – tucking jackets into jeans.
But make sure that you do it successfully by going head-to-toe in the same shade.

EXAGGERATED WAIST
THE catwalk is firmly fixed on a womanly waist.
Louis Vuitton welcomed cinching belts while Dior and Miu Miu also exaggerated the look by sculpting an hourglass silhouette.
Ladies, it’s time to embrace your curves.
FEATHERS
RUFFLE a few feathers with this trend.
Hemlines have been dressed up with posh plumes – from Prada customising frocks with fancy details to D&G adding ostrich feathers to outerwear.
It’s a trend that is set to take off come party season.
GALAXY QUEST
FASHION is on a journey to the stars with the catwalk and High Street full of zodiac signs and far-off galaxy prints.
From Dior to Christopher Kane, we are over the moon that the big names have clocked on, too.
HIGH SHINE
THE future is now, as space-age metallics are taking over.
Nasa was an influence for Chanel’s show, with the catwalk becoming a space station with its own shuttle and women dressed in shiny shades.
So polish up your metallics – as it’s all about hues that could double up as mirrors.
IRREGULAR EARRINGS
GRAB your earrings in odd pairs.
Mix-and-match styles made their big debut this summer and have hooked on for autumn-winter too.
Whether it’s differing designs or contrasting colours, the more unlikely the better.
JUMBO JUMPERS
KNITWEAR has gone supersize.
The bigger the better as chunky styles and longer lengths flooded the catwalk. And thankfully they are ideal for hiding a multitude of sins, too.

KNIFE PLEATS
PRETTY pleats are a timeless wardrobe staple and thankfully they are not going anywhere soon.
When clothes shopping be sure to look out for razor-sharp folds for a very modern touch while the shimmery shades will happily see you through to Christmas.
LATEX
GET the gloss by welcoming vinyl to your wardrobe.
Whether it’s outerwear coated in clear plastic or polished patent boots, the rubber look once favoured by Jessica Rabbit is now gracing the catwalk, the High Street and celebs.
MAD HATTER
HOLD on to your hat as stylish titfers are back in a very big way.
Marc Jacobs and Coach were throwing it back to berets, brimmed caps and bucket hats.
So swap your woolly beanie for something more retro.
NOSTALGIA
EACH era gets a time to shine on the catwalk and this season it’s the Seventies.
Think retro wallpaper prints, plenty of corduroy and a colour palette of toffee and caramel.
Fashion is about to get groovy, baby.
ORIENTAL
LOOK to the Far East and update your wardrobe with Oriental-style prints.
Mix Eastern patterns with darker tones for a wintery feel.

POWER SUITS
WHEN it comes to suiting up, summer was just a trial run.
Tailoring is back and even bigger this season, with mannish, oversized blazers, pronounced shoulders and double-breasted cuts.

BAG a dreamy duvet coat this winter.
Thankfully, the just-rolled-out-of-bed look is still bang on trend, so make sure your winter warmer is oversized and padded.
But there’s no need to get a Stella McCartney when supermarkets flog great styles.

RED alert! The fiery shade flooded the catwalk, from Prada and Fendi to Armani and Chloe.
And it’s not just bright tones, a whole host of shades are on the High Street, from scarlet to crimson.

COSY up in fleece this winter as shearling is back in a big way.
Thankfully the stores are full of shear genius and will be stocking up on faux fur styles, so you can get the designer look without the budget.

NOTHING says winter and Christmas more than a bit of velvet.
Whether it is bright shades or embellished with florals, the plush fabric is one we have a crush on.

X-RAY FABRICS
UNLESS you were living under a rock all summer, you probably realised sheer layers have become a big thing.

BRIGHTEN up grey, winter days with a splash of yellow.
