The £79 Marks and Spencer coat everyone will be wearing at London Fashion Week (but you need to be quick if you want it)
The coat was originally sold in stores in April 2016 as part of Alexa Chung’s ‘Archive By Alexa’ edit
A TRENCH coat is a chic, timeless classic that has the added benefit of keeping off the rain.
Now, has designed a mac that's set to be spotted on every style lover come London Fashion Week.
The high-street retailer's £79 outerwear has a waist belt, tartan detailing on the turned up cuffs and comes in three colourways – beige, navy and khaki.
The coat was originally sold in stores in April 2016 as part of Alexa Chung’s ‘Archive By Alexa’ edit.
It was then dubbed the ‘Frances’ and priced at £89 - a tenner more.
Alexa's line was a massive hit with shoppers selling a staggering 20,000 items on launch day.
But, the TV presenter didn’t design the coat - her brief was to pick key items out of the M&S design archives.
A spokesperson for the brand said at the time: “Taking inspiration from a navy, 1950s gabardine raincoat, this double breasted trench has an updated colour and style.
“Known for their incredibly hardwearing exterior, our raincoats were once described 'second to none' so it's no surprise Alexa picked this as a key archive piece.”
Marks & Spencer sells a staggering five coats per minute on average during winter.
Bloggers have been sharing snaps on Instagram of themselves in the statement coat.
All sizes in the navy and khaki designs are still available, but it is already out of stock in sizes six and eight in the beige.
