Balenciaga is launching a £500 range of trainers… but shoppers think they look like ‘scruffy lost property’ shoes

The sports-style shoes are yet to hit the shops yet, but they've already got customers talking

FASHION lovers aren't too convinced by Balenciaga's latest designs.

The Spanish luxury brand is launching a range of trainers, but they've left shoppers feeling divided.

While some believe the trainers give off a 'tough' vibe, others aren't so convinced

Despite the fact they won't be on sale until later this month, Balenciaga's Triple S range has already sparked discussion on social media.

The £605 retro-looking trainers feature lace-up detailing and come in a variety of different colours.

They also feature an extremely chunky sole which is unusual for the catwalk.

After taking a look at the upcoming collection, Twitter users have passed their verdict on the bold design.

One fashion fan said: "I'm torn.

"The Balenciaga sneakers are tough, BUT they also look like an old ass pair of shoes that my mum keeps in a box in the garage."

This was one of the more optimistic reviews, as others certainly didn't hold back with their criticisms.

One Twitter user said: "£500 for these new Balenciaga's and they really be looking like shoes found in lost property at school."

Another agreed: "Why are people paying £500 for these new Balenciaga's when you can find them in lost property at school for £0???"

It's not the first time that Balenciaga have hit the headlines with their barmy fashion items.

The luxury brand recently flogged a fake paper shopping bag for £876, and it's proved so popular that it's already sold out on some websites.

Some fashion lovers compared a £1,595 Balenciaga vest to a life jacket.

And people ridiculed the retail giant for selling a tote that looks exactly like a BLANKET bag.
