10 KOMMANDMENTS

We round up the life lessons we’ve learned from the Kardashians from divorce, childbirth to catfights

Catfights, childbirth, divorces and a sex change – TV’s most famous family has bared all

To mark a decade of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, we’ve rounded up the life lessons we’ve learnt from Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Rob, Kendall, Kylie, Kris and Caitlyn.

1. A problem filmed is a problem halved

Kim’s armed robbery in Paris, Kourtney’s ex Scott Disick going into rehab, Khloé’s former husband Lamar Odom’s drug overdose, Kris’ ex-husband Bruce transitioning into Caitlyn – no event is too private to be part of the show.

And there’s never a bad time for a selfie.

Who could forget “momager” Kris saying: “Kim, would you stop taking pictures of yourself? Your sister’s going to jail!” as Kim pouted in the car when taking Khloé to prison after she failed probation following her DUI arrest.

2. A nip tuck is nothing to be ashamed of

However invasive the medical procedure, Kim’s fertility treatment, bloody vampire facial and Botox have all been intimately documented.

Props go to Bruce whose face changed with every season, but not as dramatically as in series 10 when he told the family he identified as a woman.

There were a lot of tears, deep chats and incorrect gender pronoun usage.

But away from the media brouhaha, this was about a family coming to terms with their dad’s decision to live publicly as a female. As Scott philosophically put it: “It’s pretty wild.”

3. Always keep it real

We love their sarcastic one-liners.

When Kim flipped out after losing her earring in the ocean, Kourtney retorted: “Kim, there are people dying.”

And Kris wasn’t afraid to remind Kim of her whirlwind marriage to basketball player Kris Humphries: “[You were] married for 72 days. Really? That was normal?”

But respect to Scott, who said: “I never thought I’d be in a family that has more people than a small country.”

4. It's OK to cry

The Kardashians aren’t afraid to let it all out when the sitch calls for it.

Like the time Kim declared totally deadpan: “I’ll cry at the end of the day – not with fresh make-up.”

In fact, Kim’s “ugly-cry face” became so legendary that it’s now one of her most popular Kimojis (that’s her own line of emojis if you’re not yet acquainted).

5. It's good to talk (and occasionally get slap happy)

No conversation topic is off limits for the Kardashians, but sometimes actions speak louder than words.

Our favourite things-get-physical moments include Kim pummelling Khloé with her handbag and Khloé giving Scott a slap after accusing the commitment-phobe of “knocking-up” Kourtney so she wouldn’t leave him. Ouch!

6. It's not the marriage, it's the wedding that counts

Khloé married NBA player Lamar Odom in a lavish wedding just a month after they met.

But then Kim raised the bar with her fairy-tale nuptials to Kris Humphries.

However, after just 72 days of marriage, Kim filed for divorce.

Two years later, rapper Kanye West popped the question to Kim on-screen in a baseball park.

The pair wed in a reported £9million weekend extravaganza in Florence, alongside a 20ft wall of flowers and a 7ft cake.

There was no sign of brother Rob at the bash, though – he felt too fat, apparently.

7. Speak the same language

They’ve got their own brand of everything else, so why not vocabulary?

Whether they’re ending every statement with “Bible” to emphasise something they really mean or “facts” when trying to prove a point, some episodes of KUWTK need subtitles.

For example, you don’t want to be called a “thot” (girl who’s been with lots of guys), or have Kylie think you’re “sus” (short for suspicious).

But you do want to look “snatched” (fierce). Got it?

8. The family that holidays together...

Their family vacays are legendary.

One trip to Vegas culminated in Scott and Rob having a drunken punch-up and Kourtney calling them “slob kabobs”.

Nope, us neither.

Scott also took a holiday to London where he became a Lord after buying the title, saying: “Becoming a royal is really going to get me the respect I deserve.”

Then there was the time he brought his secret girlfriend on a family trip to Costa Rica.

The highlight, though, was Kris’ “allergic reaction” while in the Dominican Republic, which caused her lips to swell up larger than a Kardashian bum.

Nothing to do with lip fillers. Of course not.

9. There's no such thing as being too close

The Kardashians certainly like to keep it in the family, but bonding might have gone too far when Kris accidentally drugged
her son Rob’s coffee with Viagra (it was meant for ex-husband Bruce).

She also encouraged Kim to strip off for Playboy and walked in on Scott naked.

Whether it’s Rob hooking up with the winner of a Kim lookalike competition (eww), Khloé offering to be Kim’s surrogate, or Kim pretending to feed the family her placenta, the Kardashian-Jenners certainly are tight-as.

10. You're never too old to learn something new

If you want to master a new skill, get off your (potentially fake) bum and do it.

Khloé took an acting class, while Kourtney dabbled in interior design.

And after someone trashed their Dash clothing store, the girls took self-defence and shooting lessons.

Kourtney even went to a class on how to have sex while pregnant.

Then, after Prince kicked Kim off-stage for not dancing at his concert, she went for some professional choreography lessons.

Kendall even got a catwalk coach when she became interested in modelling, and look how that turned out…
