Bookies think these Game of Thrones-inspired royal baby names could be in with a (long) shot
THERE'S an all-new royal baby on the way - and speculation is already building around what the fifth in line to the throne will be called.
Bookies are already taking bets on what name Kate and William will go for, and there are some truly bizarre choices in the mix.
Naturally, traditional names - Alice, Elizabeth or Victoria for a girl and Philip, Albert or James for a boy - are the clear early favourites.
But some bookmakers have decided that these names are a bit too conventional, and have looked to another royal family for inspiration.
Sky Bets' selection of potential baby names includes a fair new nods to the royal families of Westeros, the setting for epic fantasy series Game of Thrones.
Among the names in the running is Margaery, the queen played by Natalie Dormer in the popular series.
Both Margaery and Natalie are in the running as a name for the royal baby at 50/1, provided Kate gives birth to a girl.
Daenerys, as in Mother of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen, is another unlikely choice - at a very long 500/1.
As far as the boys names are concerned, there are a few more unlikely Game of Thrones-inspired choices in the mix.
These include Jaime, Bran and Ned, all at 100/1.
Noble Ned Stark does have all the qualities you'd want in a ruler, but Jaime is a far darker inspiration for a royal.
Bran Stark, meanwhile, is too busy with his constant visions to make much of a prince - so that name may not be the best pick.

The final, ridiculous Thrones-inspired name you can take a punt on is Joffrey, after the sadistic and much-hated king.
At 1000/1, the bookies are clearly hoping that Wills and Kate will steer well clear of that one.
As far as the realistic names are concerned, there are already a few front-runners.
has Alice as the most likely girl's name, at 9/1, and Philip as the front-running boy's name, at 12/1.
Meanwhile, Betway’s top picks are Albert for a boy, at 10/1, and Alice for a girl, at 15/2.
There’s also speculation that Kate and Wills’ latest addition will be named after the late Princess Diana.
The bookies have set stakes at 18/1 (Sun Bets), 10/1 (Betway) and 14/1 (William Hill).
Similarly to her past two pregnancies, Kate is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a form of severe morning sickness.
The sickness saw her rushed to Aberdeen hospital while visiting the Queen in Balmoral two weeks ago.
