Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry and Sophie Kasaei talk sex, cosmetic surgery and watching the show with their parents
As Geordie Shore returns, two of the show’s most brazen stars talk sex, scandal and surgery. Steel yourselves…
Geordie Shore’s Sophie Kasaei peeps through the changing-room curtain and makes an announcement: “Alice from Hertfordshire will be out in a minute.”
Er, come again? Sophie, 27, strides out in a chic jumpsuit. Gone are the curve-hugging dresses and extensions that have left her battling alopecia. “Alice is so sophisticated. I love this look,” she smiles, following her Fabulous make-under.
Sophie’s co-star Chloe Ferry, 21, who is also wearing significantly less make-up, agrees. “I’m used to five layers of foundation, but this looks nice,” she says.
They might be famous for their X-rated antics, but today, disappointingly, the girls are impeccably behaved – a million miles away from Geordie Shore’s alcohol-fuelled sex, nudity and off-the-scale arguments.
Sophie, who returned to the MTV show last year after being banned for allegedly making a racial slur on camera, is in a long-term relationship with body builder Joel Corry, 28, while Chloe’s love interests include on/off boyfriend Sam Scott, 22, and co-star Marty McKenna, 23.
We sit down with the girls to find out what the new season holds for their relationships and what they really think about TV sex, drugs and cosmetic surgery.
Ladies, what’s in store for the new series?
Sophie: In the last one, loads of newbies came in and the vibe was different, but in this one we get naked and have fun. It’s what people haven’t seen in a while.
Do you cringe when your parents see you on telly getting up to naughty business?
Chloe: What would they rather have you doing – working in Greggs? My mum’s got a new boyfriend so she understands the sex side of it.
S: No parents are ever going to like seeing their kids have sex on TV, but they’re proud of the life that I have – being financially stable and able to explore the world.
Do you ever get “the fear” after a night out?
C: I get to a point where I’m so drunk that I don’t know what I’m doing. The next morning I’ll say: "What did I do last night?", like the time the producers told me I’d been shagging Charlotte [Crosby, 27].
I could smell something fishy and obviously it was because we’d been doing the hanky-panky!
Are you bisexual?
C: I think I used to be bisexual, but I’m not any more. If I’m drunk, I’ll always neck on with a girl but I’ll never have sex again. I didn’t like it.
What’s going on with your love lives?
C: I’m single. Me and Sam still talk but he’s called off the relationship. I think he finds it too hard with us being on Geordie Shore, living with my ex Marty. It’s really upsetting because I do still love him. He’s marriage material – he’s got the car and the house.
CAST YOUR MIND BACK The amazing transformations the Geordie Shore squad have gone through since joining the show – including Charlotte Crosby and Vicky Pattison
S: I see a future with Joel but I’m not into marriage yet. I would love to settle down but it’s not the right time.
What do you regret most from being on the show?
C: Losing my temper with Zahida [Allen, 23, co-star]. I was nearly kicked off the show and I got a lot of hate on social media. I don’t like seeing myself out of control, but on Geordie Shore, you’ve got as much drink as you want.
S: Chloe always gets put on drinking bans by the producers.
Sophie, how did you feel when you were kicked off the show?
S: That was a big learning curve for me. I felt rejected and like I had nothing. I thought: “Do I go back to a normal job, to normality? Or do I fight to get back what I love?” So I fought. I never thought I’d get a second chance.
Do you ever do drugs on a night out?
S: We get searched by sniffer dogs before we go in [to the house]. There’s nothing like that going on.
What cosmetic surgery have you had?
S: A breast lift, implants and lip fillers. I don’t have an addiction because I know my limits and would never go too far. I’ve just recently had fillers removed on my top lip because they were getting bigger and bigger.
C: I love surgery. I’ve had loads of fillers in my face and a nose job, but I still don’t like my nose so I want another one. I thought I had the best boobs going in Newcastle until I put on a low-cut top and people on Instagram said I had saggy boobs. I think I’m going to get a boob job.
Do you worry that you’re promoting surgery to young female fans?
S: We’re not role models. We go out partying for a living and we are there for entertainment purposes, not to inspire people.
What’s been your biggest real-life celebrity encounter?
S: I met Cheryl once. Geordie Shore had just started and Charlotte and I were at her concert when her brother spotted us and invited us backstage. She walked in and said: “Hi girls, I love Geordie Shore!” She was friendly, but a bit offish. I couldn’t warm to her. She wasn’t the Cheryl I thought she’d be.
Have you become rich through the show?
S: I’ve got enough to provide for my family and have a good life. I’ve got savings, but we get taxed and pay VAT so you can’t just spend loads.
C: Growing up, my mum [Liz, 52] was a single parent, and all the money
she made selling fireplaces went on my ice-skating. I look after her now.
Fast-forward 10 years – what’s the dream?
C: I want to be married with two kids. I don’t really care about being in the public eye. My parents split up when I was five, so when I have kids I want to be with the dad for the rest of my life.
S: My mum and dad divorced three years ago after 27 years, and I didn’t cope. It’s probably why I’m not into marrying yet. I didn’t see my mum for a few years because she just left. Eventually, I’d love to do TV presenting like Laura Whitmore. But for now, Geordie Shore is what made us.
