A PLUS-sized blogger has called out New Look for the “crazy price differences” between its curvy and regular collections.
YouTube star Emma Millard, who is based in the UK, took to Twitter and shared pictures of a checked Bardot top that is currently on sale in the high-street retailer’s Curves, tall and regular ranges.
Meanwhile, the is on sale for £19.99.
“Hi @NewLookFashion can you explain the crazy price differences? Why should I have to pay £12 - £15 more? #fashion #discrimination #psblogger,” Emma wrote.
She later added on Instagram: “Hi @newlookfashion and @newlookcurves now I normally love your clothes and love nothing better than perusing your curve section and selecting some key pieces for the season.
“[H]owever, can you please explain to me the price differences for essentially the same top?
“So main range is £7.99 up to a size 18, I would need an extra size up and so I have two choices, pay an EXTRA £12 for the Tall version that might be too long for me or pay an EXTRA £15 for practically the similar style from the curve range!!”
Shoppers were not happy.
“There’s even less work in the plus size one because it’s not a peplum??? Ugh,” wrote one social media user, while another added: “Really surprised about this because the cheaper one looks like it’s had more done to do it in terms of manufacturing, should be the other way round.”
“Woah that’s a massive increase. Could buy nearly three of the smaller sizes,” commented one unhappy shopper.
“Paying more and not even getting the cute peplum,” said another.
The regular top features a peplum hem, bell sleeves and is 52 per cent Polyester.
The Curves is 100 per cent cotton and has flared sleeves.
Meanwhile, the tall is also 100 per cent cotton but also has a peplum hem.
The Sun Online has contacted New Look for comment.
Meanwhile, New Look’s Pure Devotion perfume costs £73 less than Chloe’s Eau de Parfum… and reviewers think it smells identical.
