Let's get quizzical!

These are the funniest answers to ever be given on The Chase – from geography fails to thinking Justin Bieber was the Canadian PM

THE pressure of taking on some of the biggest brains on television was all too much for these blundering contestants.

When these amateur quizzers walked onto the set of The Chase, they made an impression for all the wrong reasons.

Host Bradley Walsh is known for his outrageous giggling fits, but we can't knock his professionalism in these instances.

The popular presenter managed to keep a straight face after these bonkers answers were given.

But the viewers at home certainly weren't as kind, branding these contestants the "worst ever".

Here are the funniest answers ever given on The Chase...

At least she was a good sport!

Olympic taekwondo champion Jade Jones was mocked on Twitter after claiming that London was a country on the celebrity version of The Chase.

It came after quiz host Bradley Walsh asked: "The Pixar film Brave is mainly set in which UK country?"

Jade buzzed in and shouted "London" but she was corrected by Brad, who told her it was Scotland.

Hue'll be amazed

Everyone's jaws dropped in disbelief when a contestant thought the Statue of Liberty was a very different colour.

Brad asked contestant Shauna to pick from pale shades of pink, brown or green.

Instead of choosing green, Shauna quickly chose pink from the options, justifying her answer by saying it was her favourite colour and she had never seen the landmark up close.

Ducking hell!

This contestant got himself into a bit of a flap when he was quizzed on a British takeaway favourite.

He asked: "A Peking bird of which breed is used in a famous Chinese dish?"

The answer was obviously duck, but sadly the quizzer decided to guess PARROT.

Deja vu

Flabbergasted quiz show fans were adamant that a team on The Chase “deserved to lose” after making one silly mistake.

Contestants Rachel, Janice and Hugh were playing for £12,000 in a tense final round.

Chaser Paul Sinha was asked the question: “The Vicar of Dibley was set in what county?”

After he incorrectly answered “Berkshire”, the contestants were posed the same question.

The team deliberated for a few seconds, before deciding to try their chances at EXACTLY the same answer as the Sinnerman.

What's in a name?

This quizzer was branded "thick" when she messed up on “the easiest question in the history of the show”.

Fans were shocked when Hope fluffed up a piece of simple television trivia.

Host Bradley asked: “Which of these is a TV channel launched in 2007?”

When Hope failed to identify that Dave was the correct boy’s name on the line-up, she was knocked out of the competition.

Having a Wales of a time

Viewers of The Chase were left in shock after a university student thought Dundee was in Cardiff - despite studying in Wales for four years.

Chester, from London, had told the audience he had been studying zoology at Aberystwyth University seconds before making the geographical gaffe.

The contestant was asked by host Bradley Walsh on last night's show : "A Dundonian is native to which Scottish City?"

But – despite spending years in West Wales – Chester fluffed the answer and answered: "Cardiff."

Not what the doctor ordered

The Chase viewers were left in shock after a medical student got an easy anatomy question wrong.

Euan, from Glasgow, was asked by host Bradley Walsh which organ the pituitary gland was in.

But - despite completing his six years of studies - Euan fluffed the answer and said it was in the neck, not the brain.

Clearly embarrassed by his awkward blunder, he hid his face with his hands.

Is it too late to say sorry?

During the final, chase host Bradley Walsh asked trio Natalie, Milo and Karen: “What surname links Canadian Prime Ministers Pierre and Justin?”

Natalie thought she’d have a bash and answered “Bieber” – though appeared to realise her epic blunder pretty quickly as she let out a nervous giggle.

Walsh informed the team the correct answer was actually “Trudeau”.

Personally we’d have preferred it if he’d have replied: “What do you mean?”

Have a geo

Viewers were in uproar after a contestant claimed London was a Scottish city.

Barbara from Swansea made the embarrassing gaffe during her cash builder round, where she also claimed German-born scientist Albert Einstein was American.

A few pennies short of a pound?

This quizzer definitely wasn't quids in after giving this barmy answer.

Hazel was asked: “A £2 pound coin issued in 2015 was criticised for a schoolboy error because King John was holding what?”

The possible answers given were a sword, a quill or a mobile phone.

Hazel picked mobile phone which sparked ridicule among viewers who labelled her the “daftest” contestant ever with some even questioning how she even made it on the show.
