People think Dubai is glamorous – yes I earn more but I work in the middle of nowhere & have to eat leftovers in my car
A WOMAN has spilled the beans on what her life in Dubai is really like - and it's not so glamorous as people may assume.
As thousands of people across the world are ditching their homes to start a new chapter in the tourist hotspot Dubai, one woman, Emma Flicc, has revealed what her days really look like in the United Arab Emirates.
Since moving to the popular destination after falling in love with the country following a trip, Emma has been sharing insights of her new life abroad on TikTok.
But while there are plenty of things to do, including popping down to the beach and visiting museums, all is not as lavish as social media influencers tend to portray online.
Emma, who now works in the marketing industry, shared a realistic clip of her average work day where she was sat in her car eating leftovers for lunch.
In , the blonde beauty explained that she now had to bring lunches into work, as she'd been forking out a fortune at the nearby food court.

''Where I work is literally a room attached to a warehouse - I don't work in an office.
''There's nothing around me within walking distance. I have to drive to a food court to get my food,'' said Emma who works with just five male colleagues.
''I get a little bit claustrophobic in that office, so I go to the food court every day.''
But now, having spent ''way too much'' on pricey lunches, Emma is having to slash down the expenses and instead eat leftover meals.
''There is that very glamorous side to it. And I used to work at the heart of the corporate Dubai [...] - and now I am in the total opposite.
''It's a bit different, certainly not the part that people see online - or that they expect.''
''It doesn't mean that a very normal way of doing things doesn't also exist,'' said Emma who claimed to be raking in more than she would in the UK with the same job.
''I'm gonna sit [here] for 30 minutes cause again, there's nowhere for me to really just drive in my car and just sit and chill.''
'So refreshing'
Emma's video where she wasn't being afraid to share what Dubai can often look like for those who are not millionaires and influencers has been dubbed ''so refreshing'' by many viewers.
One person commented: ''Dubai ain’t all it’s cracked up to be, people.''
Someone else chimed in: ''Lived there for 16 years. People have no clue how different it is from what you see on holiday or from influencers.''
''Thanks for keeping it real,'' a third penned.
''As much as everyone glamourises Dubai as in luxury terms etc. In my eyes, it just doesn’t have a soul,'' another added.
