I gave my council house front door a mega makeover for less than £10 – now it looks gorgeous & hides nasty winter muck
A DIY fan has given her council house front door the ultimate transformation - and it cost her less than a tenner.
So if you want to give your pad an upgrade, but without breaking the bank, you’ve come to the right place and will need to check this out.
26-year-old Celene Francis, a mum-of-two who lives in a two-bedroom house in Rotherham, shared how she gave her front door a chic overhaul whilst on a budget.
With not much money to spare, the student midwife and mental health support worker took to social media to share her door makeover, leaving many open-mouthed.
Alongside the short clip, which was shared with the caption ‘DIY my front door for less than £10’, the savvy mum, who has recently given birth to her second child, Iris Valerie Duggan, said: “I came across some black paint and I thought to myself, you know what, let's repaint my front door because, well, I haven't changed it in all of probably three months now.
“If you live in a council house yourself, please tell me I am not the only one who hates the front door.

“But don't worry, because I am here to help and show you how you can transform it on a budget.”
Showing off her front door, the DIY enthusiast added: “So the current colour of my door is like a beige/taupe colour, and it was so nice for summer, however, now we're getting into the colder, winter months, I just feel like a lighter door is just not ideal.
“We’ve got two dogs, the ground is getting a lot more muckier, sludgier - we live next to fields, so it is showing up all the muck on the door. So I thought I'm gonna paint it back black.”
Celene documented herself painting her door and moments later, showed off the finished result - and it looks incredibly trendy and eye-catching.
Not only this, but according to Celene, it’s perfect for hiding all the nasty winter muck.
Thrilled with her door’s renovation, Celene beamed: “This is actually what I love about DIY, nothing ever costs too much.
“You can just keep changing things as and when you feel like it.”
Celen then confirmed that it was all thanks to cheap buys from Wilko and The Range that enabled her to transform her door without breaking the bank.
This cost me nothing because I already had the paint and I already had the wreath, so I'm well chuffed with it

She confessed: “I picked this paint up from Wilko a few years ago now and it's surprising how far it goes.
“Once I had finished painting it, I then finished it off with an autumn wreath that I picked up from The Range and honestly guys, it is absolutely gorgeous.
