A WOMAN has shared an easy 10p hack to get your taps sparkling like brand new.
Savvy cleaning fan Rachael Eppley took to TikTok to demonstrate how to effectively banish stubborn hard water stains in seconds.
Hard water stains occur because when water containing high levels of minerals like calcium and magnesium evaporates from a surface, it leaves behind a residue of these minerals, creating a visible stain, often appearing as a white, chalky deposit.
This is primarily due to the natural path of the water through rock formations like limestone, which dissolve minerals into the water supply.
But while many may race to rummage through their cleaning cupboard, according to Rachael there is a different solution - using toothpaste.
Sharing the game-changer of a hack on , Rachael showed her 275k followers how just a pea-sized amount of the oral hygiene essential can spruce up the taps in practically no time.

The savvy cleaning fanatic, who learnt the trick from her mum, first applied Colgate toothpaste directly onto the tap.
Once done, she grabbed a toothbrush and started scrubbing the silver surface that was covered in stubborn stains, showed.
When the blue toothpaste had been scrubbed in, Rachael removes any excess with water, before going in with clean cloth to also help polish it.
The results were incredible and instantly the scratches that were once on the taps had disappeared.

''Never looked better,'' she wrote in the caption of the clip which has racked up over a whopping 8million views in just one week.
Not only can you use toothpaste on your kitchen and bathroom appliances, but toothpaste can also be used to clean and polish silver jewellery.
To use toothpaste on silver jewellery, take a pea size amount and rub it into the jewellery using your finger or cotton bud, then leave it to rest for five minutes before washing off in warm water.
It will give your jewellery an instant shine and remove any tarnishing.
The reason toothpaste works so well at polishing metal is because of the mild abrasive ingredients, like baking soda, which can gently polish hard surfaces.
Social media users who viewed Rachael's video dubbed the hack a ''game-changer'' and were keen to test it out for themselves.
