She begins by addressing the common practice of applying a light shade across the entire lid, suggesting this technique should be avoided.

Erica says: “We always thought this made our eyes look bright and awake.

“But here's what's up. Now, if we go light all over the lid, an issue can be crinkling and puffing or sagging of the lid.

“You put something that's light on something that's protruding, and it's going to make it just look a little bigger and a little more hanging.

"So instead, I say, start with a medium tone.

Next, she talks about lifting the eye and explains why the traditional “light, dark, light, dark” method will make your eye appear to fall.

Instead, she suggests going “uncomfortably high to lift your eye” before then taking a “lighter colour” and applying it to the inner corners.

She also debunks the myth of “only using matte if you are mature.” Erica continues: “No, that looks dusty.”

She urges people not to be afraid to put some “luminosity on the lid” as it “catches the light and brings volume and dimension.”
