RED ALERT

I’m a cleaner & six client red flags make me avoid you like the plague – but people think my third rule is outrageous

It's bad news if you've ever played games with a cleaner to see if they're missing anything

A PROFESSIONAL cleaner has shared the red flags that make her avoid potential customers "like the plague".

Liv runs her own company, and has been employed by a huge variety of people through her role.

And it's thanks to this experience that she's able to be more picky when it comes to the jobs she takes on.

In a Liv began by saying her first red flag is when "people hide stuff to see if I'm missing anything".

"People straight up hide cotton buds on the top of the door frame!" she added.

Liv also hates "people that follow you around the house", urging them to "get out of my perimeter".

But it was her third red flag that sparked the most controversy, as she slammed "clients that call you 'the cleaner'".

"Would you like to see my birth certificate or are we going to establish some respect?" she continued.

"You are a cleaner though - why take offence to that?" one person wrote in the comments section.

"Do you go to your accountant and on the way out say 'see you next week accountant'? no. you call him dave or whatever he's called," another hit back.

"If I hire someone to do a service e.g electrician, plumber, decorator etc they are known by their title when in our house, e.g: don’t go into the kitchen the plumber is round," someone else questioned.

"I’m genuinely confused why cleaners are different? Is it because you go on a regular basis and know the customers better?"

I’m a cleaner and I’ve tested out every hoover you can imagine - my go to is the most affordable, and I’m not a fan of Mrs Hinch one

"'The plumber' comes once in a blue moon. Cleaners come every week it’s different," another replied.

"I think she means because they see her regularly & know her name that she would prefer to be addressed by it," someone else explained.

"If it was a one off it wouldn't be so bad. Everyone I know with a cleaner uses their name."

"Right?? You see them so often, they're literally all up in your business once a week - it seems crazy not to call them by their name!" another wrote.

With Liv agreeing "Yessss - if I'm tidying up your sex toys, at least give me a name bruh!"

She also said in response to other comments that she's had people say to her directly "Hi cleaner".

The household items you’re not cleaning often enough

IF you want to ensure your home is squeaky clean, you'll need to listen up. Below are the household items you're forgetting to clean, and how to get them sparkling...

Remote Controls: Wipe with a disinfectant cloth. Use a cotton bud for crevices.

Light Switches: Wipe with a disinfectant wipe. Use a mild soap solution for tough stains.

Door Handles: Clean with an antibacterial spray. Wipe down regularly.

Underneath and Behind Appliances: Vacuum or sweep regularly. Mop with a suitable cleaner.

Shower Curtains and Liners: Wash in the washing machine. Use a bleach solution for stubborn mildew.

Kitchen Sponges and Dishcloths: Microwave damp sponges for one minute. Wash dishcloths in the washing machine.

Computer Keyboards and Mice: Use compressed air to remove debris. Wipe with a disinfectant wipe.

"I think one person coming to your home on a weekly basis deserves to be addressed by their name," she added.

"Think it's just respect!"

Liv, who runs ABC Cleaning Solutions Ltd, continued listing her red flags by slamming those customers who "pay four days later", adding: "I'm not Klarna, sis!"

Those who admit they've had "so many cleaners" also make her worried.

While Liv always asks the clients who say they can clean their own 5-bed, 4-bath house in two hours to "show me".

"MINIMUM 45 mins per room, especially bathrooms," she added.

"Deep cleans can literally take eight hours."
