However, sometimes the most important decision isn’t about the style, but about who you trust to do your nails.

With many manicures and nail styles lasting up to four weeks, it’s essential to choose someone who can execute the design properly and meet your expectations.

Unfortunately, one person was left regretting her choice almost immediately after her nail appointment turned into a disaster from start to finish.

Merel, who goes by the username @merelkempell8 on TikTok, shared a video documenting her experience.

She explained that she had requested simple white acrylic nails, but the result was far from what she had in mind.

Typically, during an acrylic nail appointment, the technician will discuss your preferred shape, length, and colour.

If additional length is required, they will add an artificial tip and sculpt it into the desired shape.

However, Merel’s video showed her nails mid-process, and the acrylic application was visibly uneven and lumpy.

She later revealed the final result, which featured the white colour she had requested – but her nails were also left cut and bloody, showcasing a botched job.

Merel shared a video of her nail appointment on TikTok and unsurprisingly it gained lots of attention.

Many people rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts with one simply writing: “Omg no way.”

A second joked and said how they looked like "AirPod cases."

A third said: “Damn I refuse to believe this is real.”

Someone else wrote: “Nail tech here, oh my days.

“I've only been qualified for two years and I would pack it all in if my client ended up with this look!”

We previously revealed how someone else was left with "duck nails" after their appointment.

Posting on Facebook, an anonymous woman unveiled her nails, which have left people criticising them as "quacked up".

Unlike traditional nail shapes that either taper at the tip or stay straight, duck nails flare outwards, creating a distinctive and unconventional appearance.

This bold nail shape gained popularity in the early 2000s, thanks to MTV Jersey Shore star Snooki, but it has largely fallen out of favour in recent years.

However, the beauty enthusiast proudly flaunted her new set on social media, declaring: "Ducked 'til I die."

What age can you take kid to get their nails done?

MUMS have sparked controversy after allowing their kids to get acrylic nails. But just how old do they have to be to be allowed to get them done legally.

According to the National Occupational Standards, anyone under the age of 16 has to be accompanied by an adult.

They also need written consent from a parents or guardian.

It's also a good idea to check that the salon you're planning to go to - just to ask if they offer services to children.
