According to the Redditor, the step is guaranteed to help reduce chores in the long-run.

"It eventually becomes habitual and I have definitely seen a difference when it comes time to focus on larger cleaning tasks," they said.

Another user shared how they carry out "small tasks" as soon as possible.

They gave the examples of doing your dishes and laundry before they pile up.

"Get smaller loads of laundry done throughout the week," the poster recommended.

"I do a small load of towels and a small load of laundry during the workweek, then the big stuff while I clean on the weekend."

They also broke down how this step can apply to bigger tasks.

"Create a routine for big areas. I clean my bathroom and vacuum every week," they said.

"I have the bathroom down to a literal science and can clean it top to bottom in 45 minutes if I just get it done."

For more difficult to clean areas, the Redditor revealed that they simply split them up.

"You clear your bathroom sink and counter area and clean the sink, counter, and mirror one night, then the tub and toilet, sweeping and mopping the next day," they suggested.

Cleaning hacks and tips

Here are some tips to help you clean your home like a pro:

"I like to do that on Thursday or Friday evenings sometimes, if I have weekend plans and won't have time to clean."

You can help speed up this process by setting yourself a timed challenge.

"Set a timer for 20 minutes every day and speed through your whole place, putting things where they need to be, wiping things down, and giving a quick sweep," one user said.

"Basically whatever you notice and can complete within that timeframe."

And finding a home for every item is important as it will speed up any cleaning tasks in the future.

"If you have stuff just laying around with no real place to put it, you're house will always look cluttered," another poster pointed out.

"Every item needs a home. Once you've used it, put it back where it belongs."

And finally, the experts at revealed a fun way to make your chores more bearable.

They suggested bundling your cleaning tasks with everyday activities.

"It’s easy to work it in when you pair it with another everyday activity, like washing your face or taking a shower," they explained.

"When you finish your skincare routine in the evening, for instance, use a damp washcloth to wipe down the bathroom sink and countertop.
