My horrible, entitled and sneaky neighbours built a pergola over my fence – I’m fuming, I hope they fall into a sinkhole
A WOMAN has been left fuming after her ‘horrible’ neighbours built a pergola over her fence.
The angry woman who lives in the UK explained that her ‘entitled’ neighbours keep doing ‘sneaky’ things that are getting on her nerves.
Keen to open up on the situation, the anonymous woman took to social media to share all.
Posting on Reddit, on the thread, the woman, who writes under the username @AuGeeee, titled her post ‘Neighbours Built Over The Fence’.
She then shared her vent as she desperately asked: “Anyone know what we can do?”
Clearly very frustrated, the woman ranted: “Our horrible entitled neighbours seem to be doing things in a very sneaky way.

“First they took part of our front garden before we moved in, right after we bought the house.
“15 cm wide for four meters long, just so they could have more space to park.
“We noticed months later. So it was very sneaky.
“The solicitors said it does not make a difference and it would be more expensive to dispute it.”
Not only this, but she revealed that their latest action - building a pergola that leans over her fence - has left her furious.
She continued: “Now, a few years later, they built a pergola-thing, right over the fence. Literally, it goes over the fence, but not into our garden.
“We tried looking into our council website, to see if we could report it. But we are not sure if it’s even reportable.”
Unsure of what to do, she added: “We can’t move, this is our home and we love it.
The Top Five Reasons Neighbours Squabble

- Parking: one of the leading drivers of neighbour disputes, with 54.1 per cent of people having issues with people parking in front of their house, parking bay or driveway
- Trees - complaints about a neighbour's tree cracking your garden path was also common with nearly half of participants finding it frustrating

- Nosy Neighbours - some people have their eyes and ears at the ready to have a peek causing problems for others
“We just hope the horrible neighbours fall into a sinkhole or something… #Frustrated.”
Alongside a picture of the pergola, the woman later penned: “Just to give you all an idea… all the rain water (take into account we live in the UK so there will be A LOT of water) will come into our garden…
“I’m honestly very upset about it, mostly because of the frustration that I can’t do anything about it!”

Whilst someone else recommended: “Chop it down! It is in your space and you didn't ask for it. If they don't like it, too bad!!!”
Not only this, but another user advised: “Take a chainsaw to anything overhanging your land. And put boulders in your garden right at the property line.”
