I’ve found the perfect Christmas party dress from Asda – the sleeves cover up fat arms & it makes your body look banging
A WOMAN has revealed that she has found the ultimate Christmas party outfits from Asda - including a dress that’s great if you don’t like your arms.
So if you’ve got a festive bash coming up and fancy treating yourself to a new dress, you’ll need to check this out.
Fashion and beauty fan Christina Mitsi, who is from the UK, recently took to social media to model her new supermarket finds, which she nabbed from George at Asda.
Thrilled with her purchases, which included a velvet jumpsuit and a sequin maxi dress, Christina was eager to share her thoughts online, leaving many totally stunned.
In a clip posted on TikTok, the blonde beauty said: “Christmas party dresses from George at Asda. Let's go.”
To kick off her haul, Christina tried on a green velvet jumpsuit, as she beamed: “A lovely dark green velvet and then the neck bit here is this gorgeous, diamond chain necklace.

“I will say, though, it's a little bit awkward to position it to where you want - but once you fiddle around and get it right, it just looks absolutely gorgeous.
“Beautiful neckline. Love this little plunging bit here. I think it looks absolutely fabulous.
“It's very long for me. I am in very tall shoes, so I would have to get this taken up because I am 5 foot 3 inches, but I ordered this in a size 12 and I'd say it fits me really nicely.
“Fits beautifully and I think that looks absolutely gorgeous.”
We then saw Christina wear a plunge v-neck batwing maxi dress, as she continued: “Lovely length to it and it's this gorgeous black and gold.
“Very Christmassy, very nice, and really good if you don't want your arms on show.
“And it is quite a loose fit, so it isn't too figure hugging.
“But I will say, the material is a little bit scratchy, it is not the most comfortable around your neck.”
Following this, Christina showed her favourite frock of all, a gorgeous green dress retailing at £55.
Clearly overjoyed, she explained: “This one is absolutely fabulous. It's fishtail without being too much.
“It's a little bit shorter at the front and you can have your shoes poking out, but without this train dragging on the bottom.
This is just the ultimate Christmas party dress, I absolutely love this

“The length of it is just gorgeous and I love the sleeves. These floaty sleeves, if you have got fat arms that you want covering up, but you've got an absolutely banging body, this dress is ideal.
“Even with this sheer amount of sequins, it's not too heavy, it is not itchy on the inside. It feels absolutely fabulous and I feel amazing in it.
Is supermarket fashion the new high street?
DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:
The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a 'strong growth in clothing' and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda's clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury's clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.
So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?
Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it's good quality too - with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.
Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.
“This is just the ultimate Christmas party dress, I absolutely love this one, absolutely brilliant work by Asda. Nice. Real nice.”
We then saw the savvy shopper wear a sparkly long sleeved mini dress, as she confessed: “I love the black and gold ombre. This is just sensational, proper Christmas party dress, properly sparkly and lovely.
“I would say this one is quite short, so It probably would need some black tights with it.
“I love the fact that it's got a lovely underlayer underneath it, so you're not feeling the scratchiness of these sequins. It's actually really lovely and comfy inside.
“What I would say is, the bow detail at the back is meant to be the selling point of this dress, and yet it's just a really cheap, horrible, nasty bow.
“So the back detail is kind of wasted, it should be a nice big silk bow instead.

“But nevertheless, the front of it is what we're looking at, and the front looks absolutely banging.”
Not only this, but Christina also tried on a long sleeved black sparkly frock, as she admitted: “This one is just my favourite kind of dress. It is simple, an A-line skirt, little tie around the waist, long sleeves, stretchy at the end, covering everything.
“It’s just perfect and look how gorgeous and sparkly it is.
“It just looks absolutely fabulous under the lights and it's so comfy and nice.
“You’re not restricted at all, you wouldn't need shapewear with it.
Reasons to shop supermarket fashion
When looking for new pieces to add to your seasonal wardrobe, or update your basics, there's no need to spend hours walking around clothes shops, or scrolling online. Just pick up a dress or two alongside your fruit and veg...
They’re convenient - Chances are you visit your supermarket more times than a shopping centre or high street.
It’s affordable - For basics to more fashion-led pieces, supermarkets are leading the way for budget fashion that doesn’t look cheap.
They’re more on-trend that you think - With a customer database larger than the average high street store, shops like ASDA, Sainsbury's and Tesco are able to cater to the markets and predict trends in a lot more areas than just food supply.
They fit well - Fits and lengths often come with a little more modesty in mind. Fabrics are often highly practical too—think plenty of 100% cotton that can be thrown into the washing machine without thought.
“You can wear your comfiest bra underneath. It's just absolutely perfect as a Christmas dress.
“It would look lovely with a pair of tights as well if you don't quite want your legs out when it's a little bit chilly and it would, of course, look lovely with flats if you don't wanna wear heels.
“I just love the style of it. I love the sleeves, not too big and baggy. I think this one is absolutely fabulous and so affordable as well.”
And to finish off her haul, Christina tried on a burgundy sequin top, which she paired with a leather split skirt.
Thrilled with her new outfit, she concluded: “Finally, we've got this burgundy sequined top.
“So I wanted to get something that you could wear with a skirt, with trousers.
“If you weren't into wearing dresses, then this top is a really nice option.

“Burgundy, of course, the colour of the season, but still gorgeous and sparkly. Lovely for Christmas.
“It's got a lovely top underneath, so your skin isn't close to these big sequins.
“I probably wouldn't wear it with the skirt, I probably would wear it with a pair high waist black trousers, because I think this is just really classy, really simple, but lovely and sparkly.
“I think this is lovely and it's actually really nice and comfortable as well.
“So, yeah, a lovely option if you don't wanna wear a dress.”
