I work for world’s number one affairs website – here’s why men & women cheat
AN Ashley Madison insider has told how men and women have very different reasons for having affairs.
Isabella Mise is international spokesperson for the world's most popular extramarital affairs website and has delved into the data about why people cheat.
And she was surprised by some of the findings as they go against the stereotypes often assumed based on gender.
She said: "When we asked our membership reasons for their infidelity, the top reason was a lack of sexual satisfaction.
“And when we looked at the general population in the UK, the top reason was wanting more attention and affection.
“So really, there is that theme across the board that there is that missing piece of intimacy.
“But it's interesting because we work with a lot of researchers and sex therapists and academics around the world.
“One in particular that we've worked with in the past out of the University of Missouri, her name's Dr. Alicia Walker.
"She actually did a whole analysis of why men cheat versus why women cheat."
Isabella added: “What she found was really interesting.

“It sort of goes against what people assume.
“In her research she discovered women were actually much more inclined to be looking to outsource the physical intimacy that was was missing in their primary relationship.
“And they were really looking to outsource that piece.
“The men’s main motivation was more the emotional intimacy or the emotional validation, the emotional connection.
“I think that piece always fascinated me because I think it really goes against what we believe to be true when it comes to men and women and what they're looking for.
“It sort of flips the script.”
